Marcella, mijn meter. 🤍

Als ik naar deze oude foto’s kijk, zie ik zo’n prachtige vrouw. Stijlvol, elegant, altijd verzorgd. Haar haren perfect in de plooi en eerlijk, volgens mij heeft niemand ooit een kapsel zo goed kunnen dragen als zij.

Maar ik kijk er ook naar met een beetje pijn. Omdat ik nu, ouder geworden, dingen anders zie en begrijp dan vroeger. Omdat ik weet dat het leven niet altijd even zacht voor haar is geweest. En omdat ik soms niet rond de gedachte kan dat er zoveel van zo’n mooie vrouw verloren is gegaan. Zoveel jaren die misschien anders hadden kunnen zijn.

Ik wou dat ik haar beter had gekend. Dat ik meer contact met haar had gezocht, meer met haar had gepraat, meer naar haar verhalen had gevraagd. Zoals dat zo vaak gaat, besef je pas later hoeveel er achter iemand schuilging wanneer je niet meer de kans hebt om ernaar te vragen.

Misschien raakt ze me daarom nu zelfs meer dan toen ze er nog was. Ik herken in die foto’s iets wat ik vroeger nog niet kon zien: een vrouw met klasse, zachtheid en een eigenheid die niemand haar ooit helemaal heeft kunnen afnemen.

En wat was ze mooi. Niet alleen “mooi voor haar tijd”. Gewoon prachtig. Die haren, die jurken, die blik… Marcella was THAT girl.

Ik wou dat ik je wat beter had gekend, meter.
En ik hoop vooral dat je wist dat er mensen waren die zagen hoe bijzonder je was. 🤍 by @tomvmakeup

😢 This is so incredibly sad. My heart is broken. 💔
Just the sound of her voice used to make me smile now, all I can do is cry.
From my very first vinyl record to collecting every one of her albums, I have always loved Dolly. Even when people mocked her appearance because they couldn’t see beyond the surface, I thought she was beautiful inside and out. Like the “town tramp” she admired and took inspiration from, she turned what others judged into something magical.
Thank you, Dolly, for the music but most of all, for the endless positivity, warmth and light you poured into this world. You truly were, and always will be, magical.

We will treasure your music and honour your extraordinary legacy forever. Rest now you have given us so, so much. 🤍 by @tomvmakeup

SHARING IS CARING 😱 Na 13 jaar nemen we afscheid van onze (en vele anderen hun) creative workspace en thuis! Zo dankbaar voor de mooie jaren hier maar we zijn het pand ontgroeid en hebben iets meer ruimte nodig om te groeien. Dus HUIS TE KOOP 😌 Delen mag ook al is er momenteel wel wat interesse, er zit nog geen optie op 😉 #beetjedrukzetten taken in TomVmakeup Academy by @tomvmakeup
