I came to Vietnam’s south-central coast hoping to capture a glimpse of the fishing nets along the coast of Phú Yên. After many days of trying, waiting and returning to the same places, I finally got a few shots I’m genuinely happy with.

But these nets are more than just beautiful shapes against the sea. They are used to catch small fish, especially anchovies, which are traditionally fermented to make nước mắm, Vietnam’s iconic fish sauce. Beyond their striking presence in the landscape, the nets reflect a coastal tradition that continues to connect fishing, local food and everyday life.

Moments like this remind me why I do what I do. 🐋🤍

Being a whale swim guide in Tonga is about so much more than getting in the water with whales. It’s about witnessing, respecting and protecting these incredible animals and being trusted with moments like this.

Every whale, every encounter and every moment in the water is a privilege I’ll never take for granted. 🌊

One of the most beautiful encounters I’ve ever witnessed and one of the most beautiful videos I’ve captured to date. 🩵

I had the privilege of witnessing one of those moments here in the Kingdom of Tonga. 🇹🇴

Mum and calf quietly swimming through perfectly glassy, shallow water, just above the coral. After years of filming humpback whales, I have witnessed many extraordinary moments, but this one felt particularly special. 🐋✨

Mount Ijen 🌋

Still one of the best sunrises I’ve seen. We started hiking in the dark with no idea what the sky would look like, and by the time we reached the top, everything had turned pink. With the smoke, mountains and turquoise lake, it felt pretty unreal.

Some of my favourite moments in Sumatra were spent watching these guys 🦧🌿 ( part I )

There are so many different monkeys here but the orangutans really stood out to me. Their beauty, intelligence and the way they look at you are just fascinating.

Seeing them in the wild was definitely one of the highlights of my time in Sumatra.

Some encounters feel like time stands still..

One morning, coffee in hand, I looked out and spotted this mother and her calf just behind the reef, resting peacefully at the surface as the sun was rising. 🐋💛

I put the drone up and spent long minutes simply watching them from above, completely mesmerized by the moment.

And the best part? A few hours later, I crossed paths with the same mother and her calf again… but this time, inside the reef, with some of the best conditions I could have dreamed of for filming whales. 🪸✨

I’ll share more about that encounter in a future post. Trust me, you won’t want to miss what happened next. 🤩
