POSTS STORIES REELS

Well, I suppose it’s time I re-introduce myself. 😂

Hey, I’m Toni. 👋🏻

I’m a fiery redhead born in the 1900s, a wife, a mom raising boys, a lifelong worshipper, and a storyteller who’s spent the last 20 years behind a camera.

I’ve filmed hundreds of love stories, lived through a few plot twists of my own, and somehow reached the stage of life where I’m expected to be the responsible adult.

Still waiting for someone to explain that last part.

I’m a preacher’s kid who grew up dancing, a woman who’s had to learn how to trust again, and someone who believes God can make something beautiful out of chapters we never would’ve written for ourselves.

I believe in laughing until you cry. In remembering the moments that matter. In asking questions, changing your mind, and discovering that maybe the story isn’t going the way you planned because it isn’t finished yet.

Around here, you’ll find storytelling, faith, motherhood, marriage, millennial nonsense, occasional deep thoughts, and a small dog named Keeko who believes this is actually his account.

And sometimes we’ll talk about the hard stuff, too.

Because I don’t think we have to pretend life is perfect to recognize that it’s beautiful.

I’m not here because I’ve figured everything out. I’m here because I’m still discovering things, and I think there’s something good about doing that together.

So whether you’re here for the laughs, the stories, the faith, or you also have absolutely no idea how you became the adult in charge.

I’m glad you found your way here.

Come walk with me. ❤️

And since we’re getting acquainted, tell me something about yourself. Where are you from, and what’s one thing you refuse to outgrow?

Raise your hand if every time you get a weird feeling about someone… you end up being right. 🙋🏻‍♀️

And every single time, I try to talk myself out of it first.

Maybe this is your reminder to stop ignoring what you already know.

My discernment stays undefeated. 😅

CHAPTER III: REMEMBRANCE | Heartstone Comes of Age

18 years. Hundreds of weddings. Thousands of stories. And one girl with a camera who didn’t want to miss anything.

When I started Heartstone Films in 2008, I thought I was making wedding films.

I was. But looking back, I understand we were making something more.

A way back.

To the promises. The people. The moments we didn’t know we’d miss. The things worth remembering.

And somewhere in the process of revisiting 18 years of wedding films, photographs, studios, teams, and memories, those stories brought me back, too.

Back to the girl who started it all.

Heartstone didn’t become everything I once imagined. But it became something I’m incredibly grateful for.

To every couple who trusted us with their story, every person who worked alongside me, and everyone who believed in what we were building, thank you.

Stone by stone, you helped build Heartstone.

I don’t know exactly what the next chapter looks like. But I know what I’m carrying forward.

The storyteller was there all along.

Here’s to 18 years of Heartstone Films. And to all the stories still worth telling.

Come walk with me.

If Heartstone has ever been part of your story, I’d love to hear what you remember. by @toni.wood

Grew up a preacher’s kid. Halloween was forbidden. 👻

Fast forward to being a mom, and I’m directing an entire Sonic the Hedgehog family Halloween production.

Nobody auditioned. Everybody had a role. 😂

And somehow, the dog got the lead role. 💙

Character development, y’all.

There was a season when worship went silent.

Not because I stopped believing in God. But because somewhere between the hurt, the disappointment, and the questions I couldn’t answer, I stopped knowing how to talk to Him.

I’ve been finding my way back.

Listen friend, I’m here to tell you that you are not alone in that silence.

Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails & Amy Rose.

Some of us volunteered. Others were assigned roles. 😂💙

I believe God is raising up voices that won’t necessarily come from polished platforms, impressive credentials, or religious pedigrees.

Some will come out of the wilderness.

They’ll know what it is to be hidden. To be overlooked. To walk through seasons that made no sense while they were living them.

But obscurity taught them to trust God. Suffering taught them how to carry the oil.

Perhaps they weren’t forgotten, they were being formed.

So the wilderness wasn’t wasted at all.

God was preparing in private what He intends to use in public.

Our parents really did their best.

Millennial internet dating was apparently just ignoring every online safety lesson we learned in the 90s and hoping for the best.

Worked out for me.

Excuse me. I thought we agreed to leave these in 2005. 😭
And yes, I absolutely had one, it was a pretty light blue and chocolate brown.

Remember when “BRB” was a complete explanation for your whereabouts?

We really used to announce that we were leaving the internet and then just…leave.

No location sharing. No read receipts. No immediate response expected. Maybe an away caption on AOL Instant Messenger.

We had boundaries and didn’t even know it. 😂

Millennials, what went wrong?
