Welcome visiting artist Toni Losey to the 2026 1000 Miles Apart - the annual Western Canadian university ceramic conference taking place at the University of Manitoba from Oct 1-3!🪻🌸🌻 @tonilosey

Toni(b. 1977) is a Canadian ceramic artist based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, known for her complex, highly saturated sculptural work. Her practice explores texture, form, and transformation through abstracted plant-like structures, combining intricately articulated wheel-thrown elements with hand-built components. Losey holds a BFA in Ceramics from NSCAD University and is an active educator, teaching workshops and courses internationally as well as at NSCAD.

Her work has been exhibited widely, including at Collect London, Salon Art + Design New York, Design Miami, SOFA Chicago, and Ceramic Art London. Her sculptures are held in public collections such as Global Affairs Canada, Aberystwyth University, and the Nova Scotia Art Bank. In 2020, she was named a Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist. She held her first international solo exhibition in London in 2021 and received special recognition at the Cheongju International Ceramics Biennale in 2023.

The countdown is on — Cluster Crafts: 10 Years closes on 17 June.

Among the artists on display is Toni Losey (@tonilosey), a ceramic artist whose vibrant sculptural works are instantly recognisable for their extraordinary colour, complexity, and organic forms inspired by plant life and the natural world.

Toni holds a special place in the Cluster story. In 2020, she became the very first recipient of the Cluster Crafts Artist-in-Residence Programme, which led to her solo exhibition The Outside of Inside in London the following year. Since then, it has been a pleasure to continue following and supporting her remarkable practice.

Built through a combination of wheel-thrown, hand-built, and altered ceramic elements, her sculptures reveal new details from every angle. Rich in texture, movement, and colour, they are works that invite you to slow down and look closer.

If you haven't visited yet, this is one not to miss.

📍 @rocalondongallery
📅 Open until 17 June
🎟 Free RSVP via link in bio

Selected works are also available to collect through our online shop. by @tonilosey

We flew the Canadian flag with pride at Ceramic Art London @ceramicartlondon ! Fantastic pieces by Toni Losey - @tonilosey, Sophie Manessiez - @sophiemanessiez, and Isako Suzuki -@isneriagepottery. And we’re so proud to have Sequoia Miller of the Gardiner Museum on the jury.
🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

And now for a feel-good story: @sunkim55 is the winner of the CAL Outstanding Exhibitor Award 2026. Sun Kim is a member of the team at Edmund de Waal’s studio (which we visited). She also donated a piece to the Secret Ceramic fundraiser for @firedup4clay (@kate_malone_ceramics ’s fab charity). That piece was acquired by one of our guests for the @gardinermuseum collection — how’s that for Kind Impact Travel and a virtuous circle of supporting craft across borders?

Also on the jury was the amazing @felicityaylieff, whom we scooped up for dinner — what a privilege! We admired Felicity’s work at @kewgardens last year while travelling to London for @collectartfair

Don't miss out on the chance to travel with us. Join our mailing list, see where we're going next ! ✈️
