I play this Boards of Canada live track in my car more often than any other song. At this point if a clean soundboard recording of it miraculously emerged, I’m not sure it could sound as good as this @machinedrum edit.

Boards of Canada and the subliminal. A random thought I shared on the @bocpages discord while sipping my morning coffee and then a dumb impulse to attempt a video that I spent an embarrassing amount of time editing. A little cringe but I needed to kick the tires on learning to do this type of edit in adobe premiere in preparation for a coffee series I’ve got cooking.

Been a bit since I BOC’d at you. Boards of Canada’s remixes are often where you hear some other facets of their sonic palette. Marcus called the one they did for this WHY?/Odd Nosdam/doseone track his favorite.

Quotes pulled from the bocpages interview archives with some refreshed translations. For a band supposedly very reclusive, they’ve shared a lot in past print interviews

Some big projects are looming so Boards of Canada videos are still on the back burner, but I have some ideas. Stay tuned. #boardsofcanada @doseonegrams odd_nosdam @whywithaqmark @bocpages by @tonx

Tony is the man. I love his bittersweet take on the last couple decades of the coffee industry. His approach to making great things accessible to the masses is something to admire and copy! Make sure to give this a listen and check out all his coffee projects! by @tonx

It’s too hot to film in the roastery or my apartment so I shot this in the much cooler neighborhood overpriced grocery store. A perfectly reasonable place to buy sweet potatoes and the copious canned sparkling water I am addicted to, but not the right place to get beans… #coffee #smallbiz # by @tonx

To be fair, I’ve used a lot of Björk tracks for blend names too. Saw the billboard on my way to the grocery store here in Echo Park and figured I’d just prop the camera up on a dumpster and get this in the can.

This week’s iteration of the blend is really exemplary of what you can do when you’re willing to blend with your best beans. More roasters should follow our lead tbh.

And the Yukro… my first cupping note for this was “Yukro!”, which should tell you something about how much we love this coffee. My cofounder @yesplzsumi reminded me that this was one of the first coffees he roasted with me back in the @tonxcoffee days.
