Six apps to run one program. That was the problem.
So I built ProgramHQ. Playbook, practice, scouting, stats, roster, offseason. One place, built by a coach who uses it every day.

14 day free trial. @programhqapp by @tonyadragna

Not the outcome we hoped for today.
But when the dust settles, the 2025-26 GCA Cougars will be looked upon very fondly.

This team’s story will always be about a group of guys who finally started believing in themselves and then went out and did things most people never thought were possible. What they accomplished together was special.

I will forever be indebted to our seniors, Will Jackson and Kevin Gierke, for immediately buying into what we were building and setting the standard for what it means to be a GCA Cougar competitively, character-wise, and spiritually. I am incredibly grateful I got to coach them in their final season of high school basketball.

To the underclassmen, stay hungry. The work does not stop here. We are no longer just a good story. We are the defending Sectional Champions.

Year one gave us memories we will never forget and a foundation that will last far beyond this season.
Proud to be their coach.
Grateful for this team.

Taking the head coaching job at GCA was a leap of faith. But in a lot of ways, it felt like exactly where my basketball life had been leading me all along.

When I took the job, I quickly learned we were returning just 5 points per game from a team that finished 10-14 the year before. I heard a fair share of “the cupboard is bare,” “don’t see a lot of wins on the schedule,” and everything in between. The beauty of coming in without any prior knowledge of the roster was that it truly was a blank slate. We made that clear from day one. We had work to do, and everyone was going to get a fair shake. More than anything, we were going to build each other up and have fun while doing it.

I was fortunate to assemble an all-star staff with Coach Kriese, Coach Hawk, Coach Hinds, and Coach Tidd, and we hit the ground running.

But the most important part of this story is the kids.

They worked when nobody was watching so they could shine when everyone was. They bought in. They stayed the course when things were hard, including a stretch where we sat at 3-12. They gave a first-year head coach the grace to learn along the way too, and I still have plenty of learning to do.

Watching them lift that trophy last night was special. Nothing was given to these guys. It was all earned.

I also want to thank the parents of the players. From day one, they have been nothing but supportive of our vision for this program. That means more than most probably realize. Thank you to our administration and the entire GCA community as well for believing in what we are building.

And I would be completely remiss if I did not thank my wife. She has been at all 25 games this season and has been fully invested in this journey. She knew my work commitments already take a lot of time, and adding a coaching job meant even more. She did not bat an eye. That support means everything.

But as the saying goes, job’s not finished.

Let’s keep it rolling Saturday against Liberty Christian.

Giovanni is somehow 6 today! Kid made me the best title I’ve ever held, dad. An insanely smart kid that loves his sports, monster trucks, hot wheels, and is a fierce competitor in everything he does (sometimes to a fault). Love this kid to death - here’s to a great year #6, Gio! by @tonyadragna

My first season as head varsity coach at GCA, and I’m all in with this squad. They’ll be overlooked by a lot of people—but never by me. The work they’ve put in this offseason will hopefully speak for itself.
And in case you’re wondering, no…I’m not actually 5’6”. My 6’5” bookends just have me looking that way.
We open Wednesday at Lebanon. Let’s make a statement. 🏀 🐾 by @tonyadragna

Today I had the opportunity to participate in the GCA Classic, an event that plays a huge role in funding GCA Athletics.

It was a great day getting to play 18 with my coaching staff, connect with our student-athletes and parents, and share with the group about why this event matters so much to our school and community.

If you’d like to help us reach our goal for today, you can give here:

Thank you to everyone who makes this event possible—your support directly impacts our athletes and the opportunities they have to grow both on and off the field/court. taken in Hillview Country Club by @tonyadragna
