I fari evocano un senso unico di mistero e solitudine. Molti sono affascinati dal loro ruolo storico di guida e protezione per i naviganti, ma rappresentano anche una bellezza architettonica isolata, spesso immersa in paesaggi marini suggestivi. C’è qualcosa di molto romantico nell’immagine di una luce che resiste all’oscurità e alle tempeste.

The Lighthouse evokes a unique sense of mystery and solitude. Many are fascinated by their historic role of guiding and protecting sailors, but they also represent an isolated architectural beauty, often immersed in evocative seascapes. There is something very romantic about the image of a light that resists darkness and storms.

A San Vito Chietino il mare è l’essenza di ogni cosa: si respira per le stradine del centro, si ammira dalla spiaggia, si ascolta quando la sera ci si ritrova sul pontile, per passeggiare tra lo sciabordio delle onde e i richiami dei gabbiani. Qui, nel borgo che fu rifugio di Gabriele d’Annunzio per lunghi periodi, non si può restare indifferenti alla bellezza della Costa dei Trabocchi, tra spiagge di sabbia o ciottoli, panorami che lasciano senza fiato e atmosfere che profumano di salsedine. Il paese, arroccato a picco sul mare, racconta il suo passato medievale con i resti delle mura difensive e le sue belle chiese, ma oggi è soprattutto mare, un mare che non è solo vacanza ma che è vita, quotidianità, identità.

Il #trabocco è un’antica macchina da pesca tipica delle coste abruzzesi, molisane e pugliesi.  La #costadeitrabocchi corrisponde al tratto di litorale Adriatico della provincia di Chieti, #abruzzo che si estende lungo la costa teatina. Si tratta di una fascia costiera estesa tra vallate e colline che, terminando sul mare, dà vita a paesaggi e ambienti naturali di vario genere.

The *trabocco* is an ancient fishing machine typical of the coasts of Abruzzo, Molise, and Puglia. The Costa dei Trabocchi Park, encompasses the stretch of the Adriatic coastline in the province of Chieti (Abruzzo) that runs along the Teatine coast. It is a coastal strip situated between valleys and hills which, meeting the sea, creates a diverse range of landscapes and natural environments.

Il faro di Punta Penna, con i suoi 70 metri di altezza, è il secondo faro più alto d’Italia. Ricostruito dopo il bombardamento da parte dei tedeschi nel 1944, fu inaugurato nel 1948; si trova presso il porto di Vasto e vanta una delle più belle viste a strapiombo sul mare, in cui è possibile ammirare il panorama da Ortona al Gargano.
