I fell in love with Guo Pei in 2015 at the Met. I fell in love with her all over again in 2026, in person. ✨

So honored to lead the creative direction for her return to NYC show. A true artist is not only defined by her extraordinary talent, but also by her humility, kindness, and ability to inspire. And she is all that and more.

A special project to curate & produce this Shanghai Qipao show, as part of the CFDA Fashion Calendar this NYFW, and ahead of the upcoming summit between the leaders of China and the U.S. next week✨

More than 20 members of the Shanghai Qipao Association joined over 20 New York models. What made me so proud was watching the “aunties” from Shanghai square dancing step onto a professional NYFW runway - and absolutely own it. ❤️ This is the kind of cultural connection that feels warm, genuine, and meaningful.

When @yuesaikan & @china.institute asked me to create this project, I wanted this to be more than just a traditional Qipao show. So I collaborated with my dear friend @mimi_tao and created a musical journey that reflected the spirit of Shanghai and the dialogue between East and West - from a Shanghai lounge diva version of “Tianya Genv” to the vintage American voice of Connie Francis; from a Wong Kar-wai remix with Sex and the City to the French romance of Clio and the dreamy Te Regalo, then the lightness of Shanghai Morning, and finally Moon River blended with Audrey Hepburn’s iconic monologue in Breakfast at the Tiffany’s.

Qipao carries the memories of my heritage, but it also has the power to tell new stories - here in New York and around the world. It was my personal way of creating a Qipao show that feels both deeply Shanghai and completely at home in New York - a celebration of heritage, fashion, music, and the beauty of cultural exchange. 🇨🇳✨🇺🇸

So grateful to every single person who made this happen. From the models to the backstage team, creatives, and everyone who believed in this vision—so much love and care went into every detail.

I hope you felt the love we put into this show. ❤️

Happy Birthday to our forever baby boy, Panda.

Memories of 2018: Mom and Dad, a little bored in NYC, playing paper mahjong - Panda kept them company.

That year, Panda went through a sudden gallbladder rupture. He bravely endured three weeks of emergency care and surgery, and miraculously made a full recovery. Mom and Dad came for him, and we were all together, held by love.
