This past year has been a masterclass in understanding a love I could never fathom, it also came with welcoming of decisions I never knew I had to make along with bittersweet goodbyes.

I spent many of moments mourning the version of myself that operated autonomously with the freedom of going through the world without a schedule, a diaper bag, or a constant mental checklist of responsibilities. There’s a real grief in realizing that “self-care” can often take a backseat to life’s responsibilities.

But in this process I found a new kind of strength. The heaviness I feel is actually that of finding stability in how I operate, taking my time and being intentional with how I approach my day, learning to be more honest with the boundaries I set for my peace. Learning to find oxygen in the smallest cracks of the day.

It’s not about the quick flights, party to 5am weekends anymore; it’s about the five minutes of quiet coffee before the house wakes up, or the way my daughter’s laugh makes the stress of work feel a million miles away.

The truth about this chapter of life is that it’s a trade. You trade your Carefree for your Purpose. You trade your Spontaneity for your Legacy. And while I still miss that guy sometimes, I wouldn’t trade the man I’ve become for anything. Because even when I’m exhausted, being a family man is the only job that makes me feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

Here’s to growing up, showing up, and finding the magic in the middle of the mess. 🥂✨
