Celebrating a true legend in hospitality, the Top 100 Sommeliers Legend Award 2026 has been presented to Brian Julyan MS.

The Top 100 Sommeliers Legend Award honours those who don’t just excel—but transform our profession.

This year's recipient is a true pioneer.

Through decades of leadership, they created the global framework that still defines our profession today.

An esteemed educator, author, consultant to icons like The Savoy and The Ritz, and an internationally respected judge. Their influence has shaped generations of sommeliers around the world.

Their lifetime of dedication has also been recognised with the prestigious Gérard Basset Award.

A Master Sommelier since 1972, and the visionary behind the Court of Master Sommeliers, co-founded in 1977.

The winner of the 2026 Inspiration Award is: Terry Kandylis, founder @bendito_destino_ and Group Head Sommelier at @noblerotmayfair Noble Rot Restaurant and Wine Bar

The Inspiration Award is given to a sommelier who inspires people in our profession to strive for more.

Someone who has years of experience. Working to educate and encourage new sommeliers and nurturing the next generation of sommeliers. Stimulating and encouraging them to achieve excellence.

The Top 100 Sommelier Inspiration Award goes to a man, well-known to you all an award-winning sommelier who has worked at The Ledbury, The Fat Duck and 67 Pall Mall.

A trail blazer when it comes to showing career progression for sommeliers. He is now a winemaker and has been the winner of many accolades such as UK Sommelier of the Year in 2016 and Best Sommelier in Greece.
