On June 22, my world changed forever. My beautiful mom, Ana Rosa Medina, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. While our hearts are broken saying goodbye, I know Heaven gained one of the brightest souls this world has ever known. Her celebration of life reminded me of something Iโ€™ll carry foreverโ€ฆa life lived with love never truly ends. Seeing the HUNDREDS of people who came to celebrate her, hearing the stories, the tears, the laughter, and witnessing the lives she touched made one thing incredibly clearโ€ฆmy mother left this world better than she found it. The impact she had on this earth was undeniable. My mom was my rock, my greatest inspiration, my role model, and the strongest person Iโ€™ve ever known. She spent her life loving others, bringing people together, uplifting complete strangers, and showing everyone what Godโ€™s love looked like through her actions. If you ever met her, you left with a smile because thatโ€™s just who she was. For 17 years, she fought Stage 4 cancer with a strength that will amaze me for the rest of my life. She never lost her faith, never stopped believing, and never let her illness define her. People may say cancer took my mom. I donโ€™t see it that way. Cancer didnโ€™t beat my mother. My mother beat cancer. Because cancer never took away her smile, her kindness, her faith, or her ability to love with everything she had. She faced every battle with grace, dignity, and God by her side. Mom, thank you for every hug, every kiss, every laugh, every lesson, every memory, and every sacrifice you made for me and our family. Thank you for raising me into the man I am today. Everything great in me started with you. You always reminded me that sometimes you have to take five steps back to go ten steps forward. I promise to honor your legacy by living with the same faith, compassion, strength, and love you showed every single day. So today, tomorrow, and for the rest of my lifeโ€ฆ I love you 299. Thank you for being the greatest mother a son could ever ask for. Thank you for being my lucky charm.I hope I continue to make you proud until God allows us to be together again.
