One of Nantucket’s oldest and most historic hotels, The Wauwinet has welcomed generations with exceptional cuisine, warm hospitality, and timeless luxury since 1875.

Tonight’s Shore Dinner at TOPPER’S honored that legacy with an evening inspired by the coast, from Fifth Bend oysters at sunset to a beautifully curated four-course dinner by Chef Kyle Zachary featuring Atlantic Bluefin Tuna, Pan Roasted Dayboat Scallops, and Lobster Stuffed Chicken, all complemented by thoughtfully curated wine pairings.

In 1976, a young British wine merchant organized a blind tasting in Paris that would unknowingly change the wine world forever during the Judgment of Paris.

France’s top wine judges arrived fully expecting the great wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy to easily outperform a few unknown bottles from Napa Valley.

As tasting went on, the judges kept choosing the California wines without realizing it. When the scores were revealed, a Napa Chardonnay had beaten the best white Burgundies, and a California Cabernet defeated some of France’s most famous Bordeaux estates.
