Meet the woman behind the mission. 🛡️

25+ years in law enforcement. A survivor who turned her story into a system. Kenyatta McKinnon doesn’t just protect
high-net worth and high-profile women. She built an entire methodology around it.

As Founder & CEO of Top Security Services, Kenyatta created Invisible Protection™ and The Kenyatta Method™ proprietary frameworks built on the belief that true security is felt, not seen.

Her path from being a law enforcement officer to executive protection powerhouse wasn’t accidental. It was purposeful shaped by her lived experiences and refined by decades on the front lines.

Author. Speaker. Survivor. Safety Advocate. This is protection built from experience.

Kenyatta McKinnon didn’t just build a security company she built a system rooted in her own story.

This is a great training video on why women should have a small tool to keep them safe when you are out away from home alone.

👀 Watch closely.

He grabs her hair. He tries to pull her in. She doesn't freeze. She turns, reaches for the device in her pocket, and uses it.

That split second is the difference. A safety tool only works if:

1. It's on you, not buried in your bag

2. You can reach it without looking

3. You've practiced using it before you ever need it

Most women carry something. Few have rehearsed it. Practice your draw until it's automatic, especially if you walk alone, you travel solo, or work late nights.

Disclaimer: Know the laws in your state before you carry any self-defense device.

👮🏽 I wore a badge. I carried a gun. I trained people how to stay safe.

And I still ended up on the wrong side of a gun 🔫held by a man I trusted.

Out of the country. Far from backup. Far from everything I knew.

People assume domestic violence only happens to women who "don't know better." I knew better. I was law enforcement. It happened to me anyway.

This is the part of my story I never told publicly. And what happened AFTER he pulled that gun out on me is the part of my life that changed everything.

Podcaster interviewer: @torismontez

Part 2 drops of this podcast drops next week Tuesday 10/6/26 stay tune. 🔔 Turn on notifications so you don't miss it.

If you have been affected by domestic violence then you are in the right place.

DM me "safe" and let's talk.

Previously on ShieldHer... 🎬

She thought it was just another ordinary day. Same route. Same routine. Same phone in her hand.

But someone was watching.

Would you know how to protect yourself from unseen danger? Would you notice you were being followed? Would you know how to fight back?

Most women never find out until the moment comes. Inside ShieldHer, we make sure you're ready before it does.

Prepared women move differently.

Comment "SAFE" to join the community before the next episode drops.

To be continued... 📺

Trending Video Safety Tips ✔️

He hid. Strangers didn't.

Watch who moved when it mattered. 👀

What this teaches every woman:

1️⃣ Your safety plan can't depend on someone else. Not a partner, not a friend. Know what YOU will do if something happens.

2️⃣ Let any items in your possession go. If he's pulling, release it. Nothing you are carrying on your person is worth your life.

3️⃣ Get loud. Noise draws attention, and attention brings help. That's exactly what happened here.

4️⃣ Travel smart. Crossbody bag worn in front, phone and cards split up, and stay alert in unfamiliar places. Tourists are targets.

5️⃣ Talk about it before it happens. Ask your partner: "If someone grabbed me, what would you do?" The answer matters.

6️⃣ Bystanders: act. Those strangers changed the outcome.

Be honest. What would YOUR partner have done? 👇

🎙️ That's a wrap.

The final clip of What Nobody Knew I Was Carrying is here, and I'm still full from this series.

From the badge to the pulpit, from building Top Security Services to pouring into the next generation, I opened up about the weight I carried in silence and the purpose God built from it.

Thank you @iamdanteharmon for creating a space where I could tell the whole story, not just the highlight reel. And thank you to everyone who watched, shared, and messaged me along the way. Your support carried this series.

This is the last clip, but it's not the last chapter. Stay connected with me here:

SHE GOT OUT. HERE'S WHY. 👇

A woman was dragged by her hair into a men's restroom. Bystanders stepped in. One called the police. When he grabbed her shirt, she slipped out of it and ran.

He was left holding fabric. She kept her life.

What this teaches every woman:

1️⃣ Fight to get free, not to win. Her goal was escape, not a fight. The second she had an opening, she took it.

2️⃣ Let it go. A shirt, a purse, a phone. If he's holding it, release it. Nothing you own is worth being taken.

3️⃣ Make noise. Her resistance drew attention, and attention brought help. Attackers want silence and privacy.

4️⃣ Run toward people. Not toward a dead end, a parked car, or an empty hallway. Toward light, crowds, and staff.

5️⃣ Restrooms are high-risk zones. Enclosed, private, and often near exits. Know where you are and who's around before you walk in.

6️⃣ Bystanders: act. Call it in, get close, get loud. Those men changed the outcome.

Prepared women move differently.

The bag is Birkin. The calm is earned. Twenty-five years in law enforcement taught me how to scan a room before I ever had the luxury to enjoy one. Now I do both at once. That's Invisible Protection™.

💯 I'm sitting in a room today where the air feels different.

So inspired with all of these women who built empires from nothing. Women who were told "no" and turned it into a business plan. Women who carried weight nobody saw and still showed up to lead.

This conference Black Women Sell Live 2026, and I'm reminded of something I know deep in my spirit: proximity changes perspective. When you sit in rooms like this, you stop asking IF it's possible and start asking HOW FAST.

I came from 25 years of wearing a law enforcement uniform, protecting others. Now I'm building a legacy that protects, empowers, and elevates other people. And God keeps opening rooms I once only prayed about. To every woman watching from the outside 👇🏽

Keep going. Keep scaling. Keep building. Keep believing.

There are rooms prepared specifically for you. Find your room. 🙌🏾

😳 He threw utensils at her. By standers men stepped in and told him to stop. The situation was over. But she kept yelling, kept threatening, and she kept pushing.

Let me be clear: he was wrong. Throwing objects at someone is never justified. She was wrong after distance was created between them she should have instead of provoking the situation even more. But I spent 25+ years in law enforcement, and I've seen how fast "it's over" turns into "it's too late."

When someone gives you an exit, take it. That man handed her a way out. Distance is your best protection.

Your words and how you react can change the story. Threats made after the danger was eliminated can make you look like the aggressor to witnesses and police.

Being right is not the same as being safe. Someone who already showed you violence has told you what he's capable of. Don't test him. Walk away, document it, and report it.

Your pride will heal. Some injuries won't.

🛡️ Inside ShieldHer, we teach women how to recognize escalation, de-escalate with confidence, and get home safe every time. DM me "PROTECTION" and I'll send you the link to join.
