I used to ride my bike to Liberty village after school and dig through the seconds bins at @libertygraphicstees

Best deal in town $2 tees — misprints, wrong colors, designs that came out askew. We went looking for the weirdest ones and it was a rare day when someone in my family was not wearing something from Liberty Graphics.

Years later I was in the shop getting our first run of shirts for Tops’l Farm and stopped dead in my tracks in front of a design high up on the wall. While a bit quirky, the illustration evoked something in me I couldn't shake. Was it a sense of ease? Who's feet were these? Were they enjoying an impromptu nap in the wildflowers when they should have been doing something else? What did the clouds look like that day? With a little prodding I learned the origin.

Montville Field Day, 1978.

My family started going to this summer gathering in ’86. The parade, the chicken barbecue, the sack races. One magical day in the middle of peak season where our farm family set down the tools and gathered with neighbors.

It still happens every August. A whole town in one field, at the point in the year when the work (for many) is heaviest. Strengthening ties, showing up.

In that spirit, we’re launching our fall Outside/Inside fundraiser with the sale of these shirts. I asked Liberty Graphics if they’d bring the design back for it. They said yes without hesitating.

100% of sales go to @namimaine and @realfarmercare - two organizations working on mental health for the people who work the land, the woods and the water.

Limited run. A donation gets you yours when we ship them later in October(we'll do our best to get preferred sizes).

My mother’s cattle, twenty minutes up the road. She’s been raising food for our family here most of her adult life. Twenty pounds of tallow ground by noon - must make room in the freezer! It will be rendered on a chilly day, when the wood stove is going. by @topslfarm
