Grand Prix week in Las Vegas? We head for the mountains.

The race takes over the Strip November 19 to 21, and lane closures near Bellagio have already started.
Wheeler Pass is about an hour out: hoodoos, pines and dirt roads, about 34 miles round trip in the Bronco, topping out near 7,700 feet.
Winch and recovery gear ride along.

Strip traffic or mountain dirt?

Our new guide to Grand Prix week escapes is at the link in bio, and the Bronco books on Outdoorsy.

Trail of the Week: Seven Magic Mountains, an easy off-road trail about 30 minutes from the Strip.

Desert two-track rated 2 of 10 on onX, about 14.6 miles on the onX route, past the Jean and Roach Dry Lakes.
The payoff: seven towers of painted boulders, public art in the desert since 2016.
Heads up: recent onX trip reports mention recreational shooting and trash on the last stretch. Stay on the route, stay alert and pack out what you bring.
Our Bronco handles it easily, and it's on Outdoorsy.

Sunrise or sunset out here?

Follow for next Monday's trail.

A racer flew in for the NHRA Nationals. We brought the camper.

Our Silverado 2500HD towed Trailer 01 past the Strip to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and we set it up in the pits before race day. Generator and Starlink Mini were on the list for this one.

Racing in Vegas next year? NASCAR is March 19 to 21 and October 8 to 10, 2027, and NHRA is back October 28 to 31, 2027. Which one are you camping at?

Book Trailer 01 on Outdoorsy, RVshare or RVezy, link in bio.

Air down for Bitter Springs near Las Vegas. The washes turn to soft sand, so drop to 20 psi before the sand and air back up before the highway. The deflators and compressor come with the Bronco.
