Spring has come to the little balcony in the middle of the city 🌱 This is hollowroot (Corydalis cava) and it usually grows in shade in forests. It isn't strictly native to Denmark - it's introduced from Central Europe hundreds of years ago, maybe more. However, it isn't invasive and with the changing climate it would likely have found it's own way up here anyway (referred to as "near native"), so I tolerate it 💚😄 And......well, it is beautiful.

Found a dead reticulated python, a super cool and very oddly shaped spider, a chocolate pansy butterfly and a striking flowers called Costus lucanusianus (hehe, anus). After that I had to sit down and get me a cup of coffee from Borneo ☕️ by @torben_kat

Another gentle giant from today! As big as my hand and gently fluttering about, the butterfly, Lyssa zampa, is a common species in SE Asia. Doesn't make it any less beautiful and spectacular, though. by @torben_kat

I met a giant! The giant in question is the ant species, Dinomyrmex gigas! It's quite common in the jungles of SE Asia and it's a gentle giant 💚 I have yet to see them get defensive. They just don't like to get up on a hand like most ants. But I'm gonna keep trying! by @torben_kat

I also made other friends today - macaques! 🐒 In these parts of Kuala Lumpur they're absolutely ubiquitous but shy, so being able to get this close and have the whole group relaxed around be was a rare treat. Cheeky, little rascals! by @torben_kat

Made a new friend, a local research assistent at FRIM (forest research institute Malaysia). He introduced me to wild durian straight from the jungle 🍈 A once in a lifetime experience that I'll never forget.
