Never had any interest in visiting Vegas - until @nodoubt announced they would be performing at @spherevegas I knew I was going no matter what and put out an all call to IG to see if anyone wanted to go with me. Thanks to @emayareeyeay for almost immediately reaching out. This turned into an ultra nostalgic girls weekend with @wacesca jumping on board too. To say the experience was amazing is an understatement! I’ll post some videos. Word to the wise, if an artist you love ever does a Sphere residency - jump on that flight and go. #unforgettable taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @toriresurrected

Stepping back into the director’s chair for West Side Story was a gift I didn’t realize how much I needed.

In just six weeks, this remarkable company built something extraordinary — staging the show in the round, with an ensemble of incredibly talented students from a dozen or so different high schools alongside adult actors, all supported by a truly dream production team through @northernvirginiaperformingarts

And like all great theatre, it came with its share of surprises.

Opening night brought mic issues and a bed that decided to dramatically give up mid-scene. Night two raised the stakes even higher — an understudy stepping in mid-show and absolutely knocking it out of the park, and a member of our production staff 👀 @tonyjcjohnson jumping in to cover a role.

And through it all, what stood out most was the way this company handled every unexpected moment: with professionalism, grace, and unwavering support for one another.

Actors lifted each other up.
The company adapted in real time.
Everyone kept the story moving forward.

This is what real theatre looks like.
This is why it matters.

I’m endlessly proud of this company and so grateful to have been welcomed into such a supportive, talented, and joyful creative space.

What a privilege it has been to tell this story with you. ❤️ Keep your eyes on NoVAPA, they’re creating community and doing amazing things! taken in The National Conference Center by @toriresurrected

I have told chat gpt so much about my cats that it thinks they’re my job. They don’t disagree, I’m sure. by @toriresurrected

So grateful to my dear friend @tonyjcjohnson and @northernvirginiaperformingarts for inviting me to help direct one of the very first school age productions of Come From Away. Personally, this was my first time getting to create a work of theatre since leaving teaching three years ago, and it was the absolute best opportunity for me to test the waters. The confidence expressed in my creative abilities and the chance taken on me has meant more than I can say.

Getting to work with young people again — and watching them tell such an important story — reiterated how deeply fulfilling this work is, and helped me prove to myself that I deserved to be a part of it. Thank you, NOVAPA, Tony, and to the artists in the Teen Conservatory for welcoming me into your creative space and for helping to reignite a part of me I thought I’d never see again.❤️ by @toriresurrected
