This weekend and this season, our sisters in Canada celebrate the bounty of harvest and gatherings. 🍁 With a full table and a full heart, we are grateful for Ontario’s harvest. Grateful for the land. Grateful for the Indigenous peoples who have cared for both since time immemorial.

Corn, beans, and squash. Wild rice. Maple. Gifts first grown and shared by the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat, and by the many Nations whose teachings on gratitude and reciprocity guide us still.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving🍁 #aka1908 #GlobalChampionsifChange by @torontoaka

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day are both observed annually on September 30th, and they are dedicated to honouring Residential School Survivors, their families, and communities, and to recognize the lasting impacts of Canada’s Residential School system. These commemorations provide an opportunity to deepen Canada’s understanding of the intergenerational effects of residential schools and to reflect on their enduring legacy as part of the ongoing journey toward truth, healing, and reconciliation. (Canada.ca)

ΑΑΔΩ Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Proudly acknowledges and stands in solidarity with our Indigenous brothers and sisters seeking truth and reconciliation for those that never came home.

As we celebrate the close of an extraordinary four year journey, we extend our deepest gratitude to a leader whose vision, creativity, and unwavering commitment have left an indelible mark on our Region.

Thank you Carrie J. Clark for four incredible years of sisterhood, service, and excellence. Your leadership inspired us to dream bigger, serve with greater purpose, and embrace every opportunity to grow together. Through your innovation, passion, and grace, you cultivated an environment where our sisterhood flourished and our Region continued to thrive.

Your legacy is reflected not only in the initiatives you championed, but in the relationships you strengthened, the leaders you empowered, and the countless lives you touched along the way.

Thank you for leading with heart, purpose, and excellence. We celebrate you, we appreciate you, and we are excited to build upon the foundation you’ve so beautifully created.

Because caring for our community starts at the roots 💕💚

Thanks to the incredible support of our members and community, Alpha Alpha Delta Omega Chapter collected approximately 275 hair care items through our signature program, Taking Care of Our Roots. It was our privilege to donate these items to Rosalie Hall, helping ensure Black women and young mothers have access to essential hair care products that meet their needs.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and supported this initiative. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference, and we’re grateful to our community partners for the incredible work they do every day. 💗💚

Eight years ago, a vision took flight. 💕💚

Today, we proudly celebrate our 8th Chartering Anniversary! What began as a dream of service, sisterhood, and impact in Toronto has grown into a chapter that continues to uplift our community, support one another, and embody excellence in all that we do.

We are incredibly grateful for our sisters who came together to lay the foundation of AADO and those who continue to carry the torch.

Here’s to 8 years of serving, leading, growing, and soaring together. The best is yet to come.

Happy Chapterversary, AADO! 💕💚 by @torontoaka

As we end the week we remember the time we had last weekend. Alpha Alpha Delta Omega Chapter had the best time attending the Ques’ 33rd Annual International District Meeting - from the Welcome Reception to the bowling event, the energy was unmatched! 🎳💅🏾

We love any opportunity to show up and support our D9 brothers, and this was no exception. Thank you to the Lambda Mu Mu Chapter and the 13th District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated for having us — y’all showed out! 🐾💜 by @torontoaka

This weekend, our chapter members were grateful to support the Community Baby Shower by welcoming guests at the check-in table, hosted by @ancestralhands at Malvern Community Centre in celebration of Toronto’s second annual Black Maternal Health Week.

The event was a powerful reminder of what it means to show up for one another—holding space for learning, connection, and care for Black families and birthing people.

Congrats to @ancestralhands for continuing to nurture this vision and create such an affirming and supportive environment for the community. We’re thankful to contribute to a day that uplifted so many 💕💚 by @torontoaka

THROWBACK THURSDAY Thank you to everyone who supported our We Are One AKA Day of Service: GTA D9 Blood Drive initiative!

We were proud to have representation from Omega Psi Phi 💜💛, Alpha Phi Alpha 🖤💛, Kappa Alpha Psi ❤️🤍, some community members and of course our chapter 🩷💚. It was truly meaningful to see D9 unity in action.

Every pint collected helps strengthen Canada’s blood supply and supports patients in need — and our community showing up matters. Some sorors also had a session to learn about the benefits of plasma donation.

Beyond the donations themselves, the fellowship afterward reminded us that service and sisterhood/brotherhood go hand in hand.

Thank you to those who donated, attended, supported, and helped make this initiative a success. Well done and more to come! 💕💚💕 #aka1908 #d9 by @torontoaka
