The Oregon Coast isn't known for mountain bike trails, but that's changing fast. Buzzard Butte just added four new trails, including double-black options from @carsonstorch and @christianrigal. by @tortamtb

A quick reminder from the Buzzard Butte Trail Network as we head into hunting season. 🌲🚵
The Siuslaw National Forest is shared by many different recreational users, and being good stewards means respecting one another and respecting where each activity is intended to take place.
Not every trail or recreation area is designed for every type of use. We encourage everyone visiting the forest to know the designated areas for their activity, follow posted signs and seasonal advisories, and be respectful when encountering others in the broader forest.
For our mountain bike community, please stay alert, make yourself visible during hunting season, ride responsibly, and continue representing our trail community in a positive way
Respect the forest. Respect designated uses. Be a good steward of the land. by @tortamtb

🚧 BUZZARD BUTTE TRAIL NETWORK – MIDDLE PARKING LOT CLOSURE 🚧

Starting Monday, August 24, we’ll be beginning construction work in the large, middle parking lot at the Buzzard Butte Trail Network.

For everyone’s safety, the middle parking lot will be completely closed to parking and recreational use while this work is underway. Heavy equipment and construction activity will be taking place throughout the area, so please stay clear of the work zone until the project is complete and the lot is reopened. We anticipate this work to take about 1 week.

🟢THE TRAILS WILL REMAIN OPEN🟢
But please do not enter or recreate within the middle parking lot construction area.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we complete this needed work and continue improving the Buzzard Butte Trail Network.

Please help us spread the word to anyone planning to ride or recreate in the area. 🤘🚵‍♂️ taken in Pacific City, Oregon by @tortamtb

🔥 FIRE SEASON UPDATE FOR BBTN 🔥

Even though we may be the coolest spot in Oregon, we want to keep our forests, community and trails safe.

Current fire restrictions apply throughout the Buzzard Butte Trail Network.

The following are prohibited:

• Campfires
• Charcoal or briquette fires
• Pellet fires
• Warming fires
• Any other open fire

Although BBTN is a recreation area, it is not one of the developed recreation sites listed by the Forest Service where campfires are currently permitted.

Portable propane or bottled-fuel stoves and lanterns are allowed because they can be turned off immediately.

BBTN remains open for riding, and dispersed camping remains open in areas that are not marked “Day Use Only.”

Please check current restrictions before heading into the forest, carry basic fire-safety equipment in your vehicle, and help protect our trails, forests, and surrounding communities. taken in Pacific City, Oregon by @tortamtb

Here's a look at the bottom section of Wavelengt, another trail I was fortunate enough to build alongside Kubota Ambassadors Carson Storch, Dusty Wygle and a great group of friends.

Using the Kubota KX080 equipped with a CMP tiltrotator, we were able to shape these features with precision and turn piles of dirt into flowing, rideable sculptures.

This phase of the trail is open to ride... go get some!

A huge thank-you to Kubota for believing in what we do and for continuing to support the tools, machines and creativity behind these trails.

Built to ride. Built to last.
