if you take the rather unreliable Empire Builder train from King Street station, spend the next 48 hours slithering through the mountains and rolling through the plains consuming alarming quantities of coffee and orange juice (they had free refills???), miss your connection, spend the night in a mysterious hotel in Indiana, wait for your train sunbathing by lake Michigan, then take the Lake Shore Limited to Buffalo, then a bus to Niagara Falls, where your suitcase will give up on you and you will continue with an Amtrak box, then another bus to New York, then drop your bags at the Bowery hotel, wake up at 3 am to go watch the sun rise by the Rockaway Beach

then you will have crossed the entire continent from Pacific to Atlantic and will have had the most scenic voyage ever taken in North America by @tosha_zo

the summer that my lifelong dream (somewhat) came true. the summer that I was finding home on friends’ couches, train stations, in a cold tent, or anywhere life would take me. the summer I learnt to fit my whole life into two suitcases and two bags, the summer I biked a hundred kilometres in two days, the summer I fell in love with Amsterdam once again. the summer I was free by @tosha_zo
