This specific chest piece originated from a root system exposed by a tree collapse during the LA wildfires. To create the composition, Oz repeated a stencil pattern in a linear form allowing their hand and the client’s body to introduce subtle, organic variations into each repeated shape to ensure the final result was entirely unique.While granted creative freedom by the client, Gabriel, Oz views every piece as a collaboration. Their process involves working alongside the client to gauge direction and asking questions to expand and refine the vision, aiming to bring out the true essence of the person they are tattooing.For Oz, the piece carries a message of interconnectivity and protection, with the placement on the chest serving as a form of armor.
