Pamela McCool, July 19, 1933 – July 16, 2026

My grandmother. My Amah.

If you know me, you know I take great pride in being so much like my two grandmothers. Amah was one of the most interesting, headstrong, stubborn, creative, and unforgettable people I have ever met.

She was incredibly smart and witty. When I was 12, we bonded over our shared interest in family history and the role it plays in our lives. I dove deep into learning about her life, and I loved hearing her stories from growing up with New York socialite parents, to building a life in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Her life was filled with creativity, adventure, and a deep love of nature.

From painting, acting, pottery, writing, drawing, and textiles to traveling the world (she even lived in India for about a year), she embraced every opportunity to create. Through her art and passion, she contributed so much to Jackson’s cultural community.

More recently, I always loved talking with her about antiques and jewelry. The person who gave me my first watercolor set? Amah. The person who gave me beads to make jewelry with? Amah.

She was always wise, and her word was final.

I hope you’re reading, sipping wine, eating caviar, and painting in heaven.

Was going to post a photo dump for January but Ryan and I ended up being sick the whole month. Yes, the whole month. Great way to start off the year 😀Anyways glad to be somewhat out and about again taken in The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens by @totallygidget
