Just in time for your next event… a ton of Compass and App improvements are ready to make your experience EVEN BETTER!

Here are just a few highlights:

1️⃣ Bond with up to 8 People!
Thanks to the addition of Smart Groups, Totems can now each have up to EIGHT Bonds or Waypoints displayed at a time. You can customize these however you’d like using the Totem Compass App! 🫶

2️⃣ 4x Stronger Mesh Network
Greatly improved communication efficiency between devices both peer-to-peer and over the Unity Mesh Network. This is expected to result in much fewer “last known locations”/Breathing Bond Lights being displayed ⚡️

3️⃣ Improved Bluetooth Connection
Improved communication between your phone and your Totems, allowing the Totem Compass App to seamlessly maintain Cloud Communications even when you’ve got your phone in your pocket, and easily reconnect whenever you’d like to use App features! 📱

4️⃣ Simplified User Experience
Our most requested UX changes have been implemented, including the return to only 2 brightness modes, revamped Bonding and Already Bonded animations to be much clearer, and the removal of the North Light once and for all 🧭

5️⃣ A reminder that especially now that App Connectivity has improved, to ensure you’re making use of Cloud Communications to extend your range if you’re ever running into Last Known Locations at a festival. If both people are connected to the App, you’ll always be able to find each other no matter what! 💝

or sounds outside.

Don’t push anything away.
Just be just with what is.

But keep coming back to what you are directly experiencing in this moment.

If your mind takes you on a train of thought,
when you notice that just come back and experience the floor under your feet.
Or the air on your cheek.
Or the presence of the person next to you.

Letting your mind not hold on to things…but just be.
Thoughts arising, passing away.

How little time we acknowledge that in us which is just being.

Heading to @shambhala_mf this weekend? ✨

Shambhala Music Festival is nearly here, bringing another world-class electronic lineup to the beautiful Salmo River Ranch in British Columbia!

As one of Canada’s largest camping festivals, with a massive venue and seven wildly different stages to explore, the question isn’t whether you’ll lose your friends at some point throughout the weekend. It’s how many times it’ll happen!

Never fear though, Totem’s got you covered with interactive offline maps directly inside the Totem Compass App👌

You’ll be able to see yourself and your Bonds on the map, save Custom Waypoints, and use your Compass to navigate directly toward stages, plazas, medical tents, and other key locations 💪

Quiet the mind, open the heart. Love what you can already love, then let it grow wider than you thought it could.

A festival might be the best place on earth to practice this. You start with what’s easy. Your best friend’s hand on your shoulder. The stranger who hands you a flower. And if you let it, the love keeps expanding until it holds the whole field.

But the mind gets loud when you’re worried about your people. Where are they, did the text send, is that pin even close. You can’t open your heart while your head is somewhere else.

The best weekends of your life are the ones where the noise grows quiet. Where you can wander as far as the music takes you, love as widely as you can, and never once wonder how you’ll find your way back to each other.

When you’re building a product, you spend countless hours imagining every situation your customers might find themselves in. You don’t usually picture yourself living one of those scenarios. Until now.

At Bonnaroo, what started as an incredible weekend took a turn after a knee injury left Carter unable to move through the crowd.

In a place where tens of thousands of people are spread across miles of festival grounds, finding your group suddenly felt impossible.

One press of the SOS button changed that.

Your friends don’t need to panic. They don’t need to guess where you are. They just know someone they care about needs them.

We spend a lot of time talking about festivals being some of the best weekends of your life. But the truth is, those weekends aren’t just made up of the highlights. Sometimes things go wrong. Phones die. Plans fall apart. People get hurt.

Totem exists because no one should have to face those moments alone.

When was the last time you spent an hour off your phone? A real hour. Sleeping doesn’t count.

The first ten minutes are the worst of it. Your hand keeps going to your pocket on a loop, checking for something that isn’t there.

Then it loosens.

Somewhere around twenty minutes in, you notice you’ve listened to someone finish a whole story. You never waited for the pause where you’d normally look down.

You catch the second half of the joke. You see the face they make right after they land it, which is usually the better part.

By forty minutes you’ve stopped thinking about your day in terms of the pictures and photos you aren’t posting to an audience that isn’t in the room. You’re just living it with the people around you.

An hour in, and you can finally breathe again.

That’s the hour we’re trying to give back to you.
