Drawings and woodcut prints. Preparator of D&P at MoMA

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

“Reconciled Lines” is a project where 2 artists get outdoors and carve 30 minute contour lines. Before the day is done, each goes home with their block and 5 color impressions from the other’s. Later, on their own, they print their block over the other’s line, with very transparent black. Then strategically carve more away, printing in 3-4 successive layers, darker each time, with the goal of reconciling the lines, finding serendipity, creating harmony from chaos. Here are my prints from excursions with #kristievalentine (magenta) #enriquefigueredo (yellow) and #brkzer (green) #woodcut #printmaking taken in Sleepy Hollow, New York by @totemic17

My Julkaktus among many at tonight’s reception of Divination at #PeepSpace in Tarrytown. Quiet claims of multi-generational clairvoyance on my maternal grandmother’s side over time. #studiotour today and, as always, I am also showing many of the excellent #woodcuts my talented friends have made over the years for totemic17 projects. Highlighting 2 favorites here by Robert Patierno from PA and Tuukka Peltonen (Virat, Finland). Forgive my short notice so message to make an appointment to visit if you’re feelin’ it for another day. taken in Sleepy Hollow, New York by @totemic17

I’m very happy to have this #reductionprint #woodcut in a relief #printmaking show at @lux_center with some artists I’ve admired for years, like @endiposkovic @anniebissettartist and @cherylhochberg and to discover some new artists to follow like @michael.dalcerro @cynthia.back and @chthonicbrett #surfaceimpressions is up until the end of August. The work can be viewed at luxcenter.org by @totemic17
