In Middletown, The @TouroCOMOncology and @obgyntouromt Interest Groups joined forces for the Hudson Valley Plane Pull, a fundraiser supporting breast cancer research through the @americancancersociety. Our team of students worked together and successfully pulled the plane across the finish line!

It was a fun-filled day full of teamwork, laughter, and community spirit. Beyond the pull itself, they had the chance to connect with local organizations who were also participating, building relationships and sharing in a common goal of fundraising for breast cancer research. Congrats to everyone who helped make the day a success! ✈🎗

In Harlem, the TouroCOM Wellness Comittee (@tourowellness) held a candy-gram distribution event!

Student organizers Matthew and Nancy said, “Our first candy-gram distribution was an exciting opportunity to spread positivity and encouragement throughout the TouroCOM community. We were able to share candy-grams filled with motivational messages with students, faculty, and staff, reminding everyone that even the smallest gestures of kindness can make a meaningful difference. We were also grateful to have Dr. Seneviratne join us and help spread some positivity! We look forward to continuing to uplift our peers and foster a supportive community.” 🍬🍭

Students from @lmsatouromontana traveled to the National Latino Medical Student Association (@lmsanational) conference in Houston, Texas. They presented their poster project on their Tijuana, Mexico community outreach trip, which was to raise awareness around providing basic medical care to those underserved populations. In addition, second-year student Hy Nguyen received a scholarship! Growing up in a predominantly Vietnamese and Mexican immigrant community, Hy saw firsthand how language and cultural barriers can affect healthcare access and patient understanding. "Receiving this scholarship represents an opportunity to continue pursuing my goal of becoming a physician who helps bridge these language and cultural barriers," said Hy. "I strive to ensure that patients leave the clinic feeling heard, informed, and empowered to take an active role in their health."
