Most Irish ticket scams do not happen on some dodgy website. They happen in DMs and Facebook groups, where scammers are playing with peoples heartstrings, promising tickets they never had.

Over 2,500 Irish artists have drawn a line.

Irish artists, musicians and cultural workers have signed the pledge:

"In response to the call from Palestinian civil society for a cultural boycott of Israel, we pledge not to avail of any invitation to perform or exhibit in Israel, nor to accept any funding from any institution linked to the government of Israel, until such time as Israel complies with international law and universal principles of human rights."

Same €25 ticket. Three different platforms. The final price? Not quite the same.

€27.40 vs €28.75 vs €39 - all for tickets to the same event.

The Government is set to give every 16-year-old in Ireland €100 to spend on gigs, cinema and theatre. It's expected in next month's Budget, at a cost of €7 to €8 million, and it's being worked out by Arts Minister Patrick O'Donovan.

France, Spain and Italy have had versions of this for years, worth €300 to €500.

So. €100, one gig, no wrong answers. Where are you going?

We demand a fairer and more transparent ticketing process in Ireland. By signing the petition in our bio, you will help us urge relevant authorities to investigate these monopolies and enforce regulations ensuring:

1. Digital Ownership: Irish people deserve the right to own what they purchase. This includes the ability to resell tickets at will.

2. Transparency in Pricing: In line with the Sale of Tickets Act 2021, we need ticket pricing to be completely transparent. We should know when and why we are being charged inflated amounts for our tickets. This pricing needs to be provided freely by the ticketing companies working in Ireland.

3. Increased Competition: Encourage a competitive marketplace for ticket sales that benefits performers and fans alike. Investigate the existing monopolies and allow room for competition.

Irish fans have had enough. The Oasis scandal showed the whole country what we already knew. This system is broken and nobody is fixing it. It's time for us to force the ticketing industry to prioritize Irish people.

Can't go to the show? No refund? No resale? No say.

Ireland has some of the toughest anti-touting laws in Europe. And still, when you buy a ticket here, you still don't own it.

So we've started a petition. We demand the right to resell what you paid for, real transparency on what you're being charged and an investigation into how little competition there is in Irish ticketing.

There's one dominant ticketing company and a handful of promoters controlling the whole industry, it's time for change.

You pay, and the money goes into payment protection, not to the seller. They transfer the ticket within 12 hours. You confirm it landed, with 24 hours to flag anything. Only then does the seller get paid.
