Our family is heartbroken over the sudden loss of my mother in law, Carol DeFeo. She fought hard til the end against all odds which was the exact way she lived her life. 🙏🏼💔Carol was a tough, powerful, dynamic woman and I am so thankful that in recent years I not only called her my mother in law but also my friend. I am eternally grateful for the time the Lord gave us, the family memories full of laughter and most of all for the amazing man, Dan DeFeo that she brought into this world. 🌎 Thank you, Carol..for everything… I know that today you are healed in Heaven. Two years ago today our family lost two amazing people…my best friend, Terry and a few hours later my brother, Bill….within a few hours Callie lost both her Godparents, my parents lost their son, our best friend, Mark and my sister-in-Law, Maureen lost the loves of their lives and our family was shaken.
Terry Anderson was one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met. She had a kindness about her and a gentleness like Ive never known. She was patient, loving and always knew what to say and more importantly what not to say...she would often simply put her hand on my shoulder as I ranted about life and she would smile and say,” Kate, it’s all going to be ok”. She was an amazing mother and the kind of wife I aspired to be. She was fun and silly and her smile would fill a room. She was always there…in every sense of the word as Callie called her she was her “Fairy Godmother”. She was magical. She was the type of friend who comes along once in a lifetime and you describe as an Angel on earth and although I know today she is in Heaven where all angels belong I still find myself wanting to pick up the phone and hear her on the other end… by @tovkate

Dan DeFeo, I remember the day you became a father like it was yesterday and how worried you were...you wondered if you’d be “good enough”. Well, I never had any doubt, I knew who I married... I knew you’d be great but I never could have imagined just exactly what an amazing and incredible dad you’d become. You rise to every occasion, make every day fun and fiercely love your family. You are the type of dad that makes mistakes and apologizes and teaches his children it’s ok not to be perfect. The type of dad who listens before speaking and teaches his children their opinions are important, the type of dad who teaches his children to think for themselves and be independent and that they are loved unconditionally. Your example of working hard,leadership, dedication and compassion has taught our children to live the same. You’ve kissed every skinned knee, had every tough talk, disciplined with care and helped create a home filled with laughter.
