RAY in:

JXTS - FREE REMIX - premiere on YT.

Let me introduce Ray to you.

Two months ago, Ray reached out. I could feel the fire in him immediately. He didn’t want to make another piece of content. He wanted to create something real, to feel, to act, to become himself. I wrote a song called “FREE” remixed by my friend Radial Gaze. I played it for Ray, and somewhere between the first beat and the last echo, the roles became clear. Ray became the lead. I became the director.

And suddenly we were back in the 1990s.

The video is a love letter to Berlin and an era when music videos felt dangerous with echoes of The Verve, The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode and that beautifully grainy 90s world of smoke, leather, distortion and restless souls.

Berlin, the city where I was born, became the landscape. The nocturnal, dirty, rebellious city of memory. I brought my own dreams of another time, another spirit.

Ray came from Belo Horizonte, a city in Brazil. The song was written between Cape Town and Berlin, produced in St. Petersburg, and Cole in Cape Town worked his magic on the color. Four cities. Somehow, it all connected.

It just happened.
