Ida DiMarco is a trans woman and jailhouse lawyer incarcerated in New York who has been openly sharing her story for years - of horrendous conditions of incarceration and solitary confinement, and of coming out as trans while incarcerated. She has been studying criminal law for many years from inside, and has long used her knowledge and skills to advocate not just for herself but to assist other people in the system.
Just recently Ida was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. And after initial medical treatment, she is back at Bedford where she is dealing with egregious conditions including lack of access to food and sanitary needs.
We are fundraising for Ida DiMarco’s immediate needs including:
Hygiene products
Cosmetic products
Clean Clothes
Bedding and towels
Winter Clothing
Healthy Nutricious food
Materials for her work, typewriter, and writing.
As Ida continues her chemotherapy, we seek to raise 5k

TO DONATE TO Ida DeeDee:

Venmo @YAZ-CF and write “Ida” in the memo, OR
Donate to her directly through JPay (Ida DiMarco #22-G-0359, Bedford Hills C.F).

Venmo: @ sibling_support

Valentina’s current favorite song is “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters. She heard the song once on a prison radio and the lyrics stuck with her and are a source of confidence. She needs that strength to carry her through the next few months.

Valentina is a trans woman who loves Lady Gaga, drawing, and traveling with her husband. She fled to the US for a safer future and was granted TPS upon arrival. A year later, after an unwarranted interaction with local law enforcement, she was arrested and soon her TPS was revoked. Valentina was transferred to ICE custody in December of 2025. She has testified to the horrors of the North Lake Michigan GEO camp by sharing her story with us over video and letters.

Recap of our Anti-Carceral Poetics & Letter Writing event. <3 This was such a touching experience, and I remain so so grateful to everyone who showed up and wrote with us. Thank you to my co-organizers @maizymachetepoeta who I would not have been able to do this without, and @tqcommunityfund for the amazing work that they do, and for leading the letter writing activity. Please support their work and donate if you can!

Shout out to the poets @dispatchdena and @ahometoself for bringing their selected readings and amazing poems.

also the way I was so overcome with joy when @ramirezpoet showed up. I love being surprised by my friends.

We are a grassroots mutual aid collective based in NYC, supporting Trans and Queer folks inside ICE detentions nationwide and offering re-entry support by connecting recently released neighbors to community partners, collectives and support groups. Learn more at tqcommunityfund.com
We are currently working to provide consistent support to Queer and Trans neighbors in Texas, Kentucky, Colorado, Florida, and New York.
Ways you can support!
DONATE!
A 15-minute phone call in detention can cost upwards of $15.
Commissary deposit fees can range from $7-$20+.
Neighbors need re-entry funds for travel to their next destination, after being deported to a third country (not their country of birth). This can cost $100+.
Neighbors are being forced to find funding for their own urgent medical treatment, as ICE evades legal responsibility of care.
VOLUNTEER
Our Working Group meets monthly to discuss fundraising goals, build our resource library, plan events, recap the requests we have filled over the month and organize any necessary next steps.
Letter Writing is an important way we can help our neighbors inside stay connected with community outside, especially our Trans and Queer siblings who often experience the harshest conditions in detention. Consistent mail exchange with a neighbor signals to detention staff that there are people outside who care.
Events and Tabling – We are often seeking volunteers to table with us at community events and to help work the events that we host.
If you would like to volunteer with TQCF in any of these facets (now or in the future) please reach out at: tqcommunityfund@proton.me to be added to our email list!

About the fund — We are a grassroots, mutual aid fund that seeks to support Trans & Queer folks in ICE detention or who have recently been released from detention.

We believe that all Trans & Queer people are beautiful
We believe that all people deserve care and dignity.
We believe that all prisons should be abolished.

The Trans/Queer Community Fund intends to be part of the movement of grassroots efforts that support people on a daily basis.

When Trans and Queer immigrants arrive in the U.S., they are often without immediate families and support systems.

These neighbors enter a very flawed immigration system that specifically targets them at their uniquely vulnerable intersection of identities.

🦋
