Dang that was pretty tough 😂😂 pushed myself beyond my limits both physically and mentally on this. I won’t be going into anything like this without proper training ever again but glad to check it off the list. Shout out my whole fam for the support and my sis @shauntaytaytay for pacing me the last 15 miles. We accidentally missed the last aid station we didn’t realize it, so she went 15 miles without water and I was running on fumes the last 15 no question haha brutal. Fun stuff I’ll drop a video with some details on the race and the missed aid station lol

For the dads who want to make these years count. Welcome to Stoked Dad 🤙

This has been an idea for a couple of years, and I’m so excited it’s finally here.

@jgardxs and I are bringing dads together to get outside, build friendships, pursue goals, and make memories with our kids. Runs, events, gatherings, and a community we all help shape.

We’ll have limited hats and apparel drops along the way. Small batches with few restocks, so snag what you love. The heart of this is the people and the stories we’ll build together.

Follow @thestokeddad and comment or DM “STOKED” to join the free group.

Be where your feet are. Let’s do this.

I’m sure I’m not alone… but blessed is an understatement.

These few clips get me more emotional than I can put in to words.

Life is weird. Another day goes by, the kids get a little older, and somehow the moments you wish you could keep forever happen right in the middle of it all.

I can’t even put into words how much I love these kids. How much I enjoy just being around them. Their excitement over the smallest things. The way they see the world. And the fact that watching their dad run by, holding up a little paper they made, is something they’re excited about.

She probably has no idea what seeing that meant to me.

I love chasing goals and doing hard things. But watching these clips, all I can think is how lucky I am to be her dad—and how badly I want to remember every version of these kids as they grow.

Wish I could slow it down a little. 🤍

I’ve come to believe that two of the biggest keys to happiness are presence and gratitude.

That doesn’t mean I’m always present. It doesn’t mean I’m always grateful. I have my moments, just like everyone else.

But the more life I live, the more I realize happiness isn’t necessarily something waiting for us on the other side of our next accomplishment.

It’s learning to appreciate what’s already in front of us while still pursuing what’s ahead.

And maybe that’s the beautiful part. It’s a never-ending pursuit. Not of a perfect life, but of becoming someone who can find more joy in the life they’re already living.

Progress, not perfection. Gratitude, not complacency.

Be where your feet are. 🤙

And Stay stoked by @tr3y.gordon

🚨Something I don’t think dads talk about enough: the pressure of trying to juggle it all.

Being present with our kids. Providing for our families. Showing up for our marriage. Taking care of ourselves. Building something for the future.

Our kids want our time and attention. They need our presence. And being a dad comes with responsibilities that pull us in a dozen directions.
It’s hard to leave for work when they’re asking you to stay. It’s hard to be home when your mind is still on everything you need to get done.

I don’t think there’s one right answer. There’s a season for everything, and sometimes the balance takes more adjusting than we expected.

We’re going to have days we wish we handled differently.

Keep learning. Keep hustling. Keep making time for the people you’re working so hard for.
Show up and do your best with the season you’re in. I’m working on it right alongside you.

Follow along if you’re a father trying to juggle it all, too.

🚨 Send this to a dad who’s raising his kids with intention.

Our kids are listening, even when we don’t realize it.

The words we speak today can become the confidence, courage, and character they carry tomorrow.

We won’t get it perfect, but we can keep getting better.

Be intentional. Speak life. Stay Stoked. 🤙

I’ve learned a lot about myself this last month. Two HYROX races, a 50 miler, and can’t forget the Kickin Asthma half marathon.

Pretty wild considering how little I was running before all this. I’m still figuring it out, but it’s been a reminder that our bodies are capable of a lot more than we sometimes give them credit for.

This last HYROX really drove that home.

Three and a half weeks earlier, I finished my first one in 1:26. This time, my only expectation was to beat that.

Dad of 3. Working. Traveling. Learning as I go.

Knowing the ropes helped me stay calm. I started steady, maybe even a little slow. By the lunges, I realized if I pushed, I could get close to 1:10.

Then came the wall balls.

I’d seen people going 100 unbroken and thought there was no way. But let me see if I can get 50.

At 50, I was hurting.
“Just get 20 more.”

Around rep 80, I stumbled and almost lost it. Caught the ball, kept my footing, and kept moving.

By then, I could picture finishing all 100.

100 unbroken.
Finished in 1:09.

Honestly, those wall balls meant more to me than the time.

A guy asked what I’d done in training to go unbroken. My wall balls took about 8 minutes at my first race. This time, roughly 3½.

I told him, “Honestly dude, I think the biggest difference for me was mental.”

He tilted his head. Probably wasn’t the training advice he was looking for 😂

I’m not saying fitness doesn’t matter. There’s plenty I need to train. But with my legs still feeling that 50 miler, it made me wonder how often I’ve taken a break because I EXPECTED to need one.

So I’m putting the next goal out there:

SUB 60.

I know people work a long time to earn that. I respect it, and I know I have work to do. This month just made me curious about what else I’m capable of.

HYROX dogs, talk to me 👇
What took you from finishing to actually racing? If you’ve gone sub 60, what made the biggest difference?

Send this to a dad who’s killing it—and remind him that he’s doing a great job. 🤝

Our kids will never understand the sacrifices we make.

But they’ll remember how we loved, how we showed up, and who we were through it all.

The weight matters less than the man we become carrying it. That man—the person and the fayher we choose to be in the hard moments—just might shape our children’s lives more deeply than we’ll ever begin to comprehend.

Tag a dad who’s showing up, and becoming the kind of father his kids can count on.

🚨 Share this with a dad who leads by Example.

I hear my kids say, “We can do hard things,” and I want to do my part to show them that’s true.

They’re watching how I handle being tired, frustrated, or unsure of myself. I won’t always get it right, but I hope they see their dad keep trying and learn they can too.

That’s a big part of why I do this. 🤙🏽

50 miles condensed into like 90 seconds

Some highs, some lows, and a whole lot of putting one foot in front of the other. Grateful for the people that day especially my family, support teams and aid station crews.

Probably my last post about this one… probably.

First 50-miler in the books. On to the next challenge 🤙🏽

Somewhere between wanting it to be over and finally finishing, I kept coming back to how lucky I was to be out there.

Healthy enough to try. People willing to spend their day supporting me. My wife making room for these crazy goals.

I didn’t feel grateful every second. But looking back, there’s a lot to be thankful for. 🤙🏽
