26.2 miles….Second Marathon Finished.

It looked alot different this year. Training with Two kids meant grind when I could and at times that meant my girls were my training partners in the jogging stroller. Shout to my wife @shelby_smiith she the real mvp holding it down and letting me train when at times it would have been alot easier to have my help. She also was there holding both girls at different stops making sure I had electrolytes, snacks and encouragement from her signs through the whole race.

My training was scattered and at one point i was just hoping to finish better than last year. My guy @pat_sells_real.estate is the top hypeman the whole time he said nahh you got that dad strength now you will PR. I did in fact get a PR finishing 1hr 10min faster. Him and the rest of the crew supported me even when i couldn’t make the training runs. Thankful that yall still kept me going.

Overall this was the first time my training was not as strict but I ran free. I was hitting PR’s the entire way and i wish i could say i was grinding but honestly I was just along for the ride and it turned out great! by @tra5smith

Last Sunday was the OKC Memorial Marathon, so it’s fitting to have a good friend of mine and ‘Dubya’s join us this week to talk about his experience last year running the marathon after enduring months of bedrest from a terrible car accident. Plus, what did he learn through this trial to help propel him forward as a new Dad?

If you are a dad or one day hope to be, this episode is for you. If you know a dad, this episode is for you, too. If you have experienced a strained relationship with your father or as a father you wish to have a closer relationship with your child(ren), we want you to know their is hope! May this conversation lift your head and your spirit to stand back up and run the race to which you have been called!

Travon Smith is the Young Adult Men’s Director at Crossings Community Church. Travon studied Business Marketing at Oklahoma City University while competing on the Men’s Wrestling Team. After a brief stint as assistant Coach at Oklahoma City University and working in the business field, Travon went into full time ministry with The Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2017. Eventually, he transitioned full time to Crossings. In his personal time, Travon enjoys physical activity, traveling, and hanging out with friends, and most of all enjoying time with Wife(Shelby) and two kids.

I have learned to enjoy hard things. Finishing my first @hyroxamerica is one of those. Didn’t get to train how I wanted but we arrived and got the job done.

So much fun I appreciate my boy @je_kel for convincing me to do it. Also loved competing with @andrew_clark_lewis and seeing him kill it.

Ill be back for more fun. and would encourage anyone thinking about it to pull the trigger and have some fun too! by @tra5smith

Two milestones, one unforgettable week. ✨
We joyfully welcomed Penny Grace Smith on October 18, 2025,
and big sister Charlie had to steal some of the spotlight and took her first steps soon after………
Then they cried at the same time and welcomed us to the #2under2club by @tra5smith

To my baby girl…
1 whole year of being your dad. A title that I desired more than anything and that also terrified me. You made me a different man. Im excited for the tea parties, father daughter dances, and so much more. I hope to be your biggest cheerleader in life. I hope to set the standard so high that no man can offer you less than what you deserve because your daddy has loved you so well. Charlie I love you more than you will ever know. So much to try to put into words. What started as a group of friends challenging each other to stay active in 2020 has been fulfilled. I can now say I finished a Full Marathon. The feeling of accomplishment and other emotions still hasnt fully set in because of the pain in my legs currently 🙃.

Shout out to my amazing wife @shelby_smiith allowing me to sneak away to train and for going all out today. She dropped me off,helped Charlie make signs for me and Uncle Jon, met me to refuel, and cheered me on all the way.

Thankyou to all the friends that followed the progress today and sent a text or cheered on the side of the roads. The vulnerability of finding your limits and then being lifted up by encouragement to go beyond is unreal.

Lastly, Loved getting to spread “the good news” that “Jesus Saves” in front of thousands. Having people acknowledge the message made the suffering a little more worth it! by @tra5smith

Hard to describe what these two ladies have done to me. They both in very different ways soften my heart. They require patience, gentleness, and Love that I never experienced before. They help make me the best version of myself and I thank God everyday for them.

Welcome Charlotte (Charlie) Smith to the world. #girldad

Hard to put into words the last couple of days. I Still cant believe she is really here. I have wanted to be a dad for as long as I can remember. My wife @shelby_smiith was nothing but amazing through labor, a straight up “Dawg” with no meds.

Also Shoutout to @stitchin_pretty for hooking our girl up with her personalized outfit to enter the world! by @tra5smith
