Wildfires ripped through this area leaving nothing but burnt trees, many of them left charred but standing. Remarkably this Great Grey Owl returned to the area and found one of the only perches left. A Canada Lynx kitten enjoys a snowshoe hare meal in the forest nearby its mother (previous post). Such a devoted parent, she waited for more than an hour in the gusty snow before her kittens were done eating.
