2027 Development Team applications are NOW OPEN!

This is for riders who are serious about their 2027 season, and want their off-bike training specifically built around it: your calendar, your target rounds, your race format. This is not your standard training program.

You’ll get a private sponsored rate, full access to everything TrackFit, monthly check-ins with me, results and referral rewards, and a spot in TrackFit’s content all season.

In return, I need commitment. Do the work, log it, rep the brand and send the content. If you’re a rider chasing overnight results, this is not for you.

Apply through the link in my bio before Oct 31, and you could receive an email welcoming you onboard the TrackFit Development Team!

If you’re under 18? Please get a parent or guardian to read it with you and apply on your behalf.

I’ll be the first to admit, there’s been a lot of things I’ve f***ed up in life, however I always make sure to learn from what ever that was. And when it came to improving my performance and getting better on the bike, this is where I prioritised learning from those mistakes. So here’s a list of the biggest mistakes I used to make and learnt from, so you don’t have to continue to make the same mistakes like I did

The whole month on one slide, for the rider who’s always cooked by moto two.

Slide two is the four things. Tick them honestly — not “I sort of do that,” actually doing it every week. Four ticks and you’re not fading anymore. Two ticks and you know exactly what the next four weeks are.

What the slides don’t say: the order matters. Bottle first, because it works this weekend and you need something to feel while the base builds. Then the one hard session. Then the base underneath, which is the one that takes eight weeks and the one that actually changes you.

Re-run it the last weekend of October and see what’s changed.

October is holding the bike when you’re cooked. Yesterday’s reel is the start.

How many did you tick?

This one’s for the rider who trains harder every week and gets slower every roundâ€ŠđŸ‘‡đŸŒ

Slide two is the tick-list — two or more and you’re cooked, and the fix is a lighter week, not a harder one. Slide three is the whole in-season week around race day.

What the slides don’t say: the fitness you want for the last rounds was built in June. What’s left now is protecting it. The riders who finish the season strongest are usually the ones who did the least in September and the most in November.

FIFO and tradies — slide six. Your job is training load. Count it.

Re-run the tick-list the last weekend of October. If the ticks have gone up, that’s your answer for November.

You can set yourself up for arm pump before you even get to the gate the gat. You arrive cold, dehydrated, going hard from nothing. Late arm pump is different. It’s your legs and core giving up and your arms taking over a job they were never meant to do. The forearms aren’t the cause. They’re the last thing standing.

What the reel doesn’t say: this is why forearm training makes it worse twice over. It builds muscle in a space that can’t expand, and it does nothing about the reason you’re holding on in the first place. A carry and a deadlift build the grip you actually need as a side effect — and build the legs and trunk that stop you needing it.

I’ll be straight about one more thing, because plenty of people will sell you the opposite: nobody has ever run a study testing a supplement, a drink or a hydration protocol against arm pump. Not one, anywhere. Anyone selling you an electrolyte as the arm pump fix is selling you something that has never been tested. The measured physiology points at conditioning and circulation.

Twice a week. Grip comes free. Never the target.

October is the rest of it — holding the bike when you’re cooked.

Comment PUMP for the self-check. And send this to the mate with the gripper in his gear bag. by @trackfitmxperformance

If your last practice day was “ride till cooked, break, ride till cooked,” this is for you

I don’t coach how you ride. I program what the day is for — how long, how hard, how much rest. Three ride days, and most riders only ever do a messy version of one.

Slide two is all three swaps. Pick one before you get in the ute.

What the slides don’t say: the race-sim day is the one almost nobody does properly, and it’s the one that fixes moto two. Riders rehearse the moto and never rehearse the hour between motos — the drinking, the eating, the sitting in the shade. That hour decides the second race.

And the cap is real. Two days a week if you’re working full time. The extra day you’re proud of is usually the one wearing you out.

What was your last practice day actually for?

Tomorrow's post breaks all three down properly, with what to log after each.

What the reel doesn't say: the race-sim day is the one almost nobody does, and it's the one that fixes moto two. Riders rehearse the moto and never rehearse the hour between motos — the shade, the refuel, warming back up. That hour decides the second race.

And the cap is real. Two ride days a week if you're working full time. The extra day you're proud of is usually the one wearing you out — and if you're on the tools all week, your body counts that too.

If you've got a riding coach, this is for the days you're out there on your own. It doesn't replace their session.

For the rider whose cardio is fine and who still gasses out 😼‍💹

This is the one hard session in the week. Slide two is the whole thing. Slide five scales it to you, slide six is the enduro version.

What the slides don’t say: the easy minute between efforts is the bit that trains you. Stopping dead and standing there is a different session. Keep moving, keep it easy, go again.

It should feel like the back half of a moto by the end. If it doesn’t, go harder next week, not longer.

How many efforts could you hold?

You can continue doing your 20-minute jog around the block, but if you race still falling apart by lap ten, this is the session you're missing

A moto is a hard effort every corner with not enough rest between them. Steady cardio builds the base underneath that — it doesn't train the intensity itself. One session a week does.

Tomorrow's carousel has the whole thing written out, scaled by level, with the enduro version.

What the reel doesn't say: this is the only hard session you need in the week. Everything else stays easy. Riders who bolt this on top of already smashing themselves five days a week go backwards, not forwards — that's the single most common way this gets misused.

The easy minute between efforts is the part that trains you. Stopping dead and standing there is a different session entirely.

Don’t be the rider who sits in the sun in full gear between motos and can’t work out why moto two is worse

Slide two is the order. Bottle, food, shade, move, bottle, warm up. It’s twenty minutes, it costs nothing, and it works at your very next round.

What the slides don’t say: the warm-up before moto two matters as much as the one before moto one. Twenty minutes in the shade is enough to go cold, and going to the gate cold is the fastest way to pump up in the opening laps. Easy laps or a few minutes moving before the gate.

What do you actually do in the break?

đŸ‘‰đŸŒ Send this to the mate who relies a pie and a Coke to get them through moto 2.
