Hey y'all. This is one of my fave songs because of that memorable guitar intro, and the most recent song we covered between Sam's 2 heart surgeries. I used to care if I looked wonderful tonight, but now? I just want to SEE wonderful & FEEL wonderful. Wouldn't that BE wonderful? Looking wonderful is in the eye of the beholder whilst seeing wonderful is in the eyes of the holder. So, my recent appt. at Retinologist was promising. He's pleased. Says I'm making wonderful progress, however slow, painful & tortuous. The blood & fluid have stopped, but the fibrous matter takes time to dissolve, resolve & involve healing, fading. So injections will continue in one eye until. My daughter says the right eye looks like I'm half zombie with blood in one eye. Don't worry I won't bite tho feel like I'm half zombie after the last 2 years. The vit A foods are doing wonders, or should I say doing wonderfuls, however slow, but absorbed much better than supplements. Still faded, foggy twisted vision. The left eye fights the right. It's very bossy. The brain tries to figure out what warpness my eyes will see each day. Really makes me dizzy. How I long for wonderful, clear & colorful details as God knows, being the King of Details & Kreativity & Kolor. For now tho, very thankful for evidence of progress. It's ironic because faith is the evidence of things NOT seen. But sometimes that faith gets stronger WITH a lil evidence. Like Thomas in the bible. He just wanted to make sure it was Jesus he was seeing after the resurrection, some evidence. The wounds on Jesus. My world is full of wonders that I long to wonderfully gaze upon. Evidence of our Mighty God. Anyways, back in a month. Sam's Cardiologist checkup was this week as well. Wound from surgery is healing & they removed & lowered some meds yay, so hoping that will help him feel more like himself. He did pick up the 🎸yay. Goes back for Echo, other things, in a couple months when they can get a better idea how the heart is mending. Time to slowly strengthen upper body & heart, walk, be patient. 🥀✝️ "Teardrops & Backdrops" Here is our 2nd Easter Blues original song for Easter, Ressurection Day, called "I Saw The Love". Starts out slow and easy, singing about a heart filled with joy and eyes filled with tears. Then doubletime jam. I have performance shots doing this tune throughput the years for the backdrops. It's our longest song, but I hope you'll stay. The 1st song, my previous post, is "Shepherd's Heart", a laidback soothing slide guitar tune. Slide on over to it after this if you haven't already. I hope you'll join us for both and feel the love. I feel the love and I'm praying selfishly to SEE the love. In people's faces, in creation, in the power of the resurrection. And in my soul. 🚀 M🌒🌒N MISSION excitement from our front yard... Launch of Artemis II, crew of 4, from Launch Pad 39-B, around the moon and back! I used to work at Kennedy Space Center and I actually have been on the top of that Pad and I was shaking in my boots. Also stood on an old Apollo platform and sat in the pilot seat of the Space Shuttle Discovery. I received a Silver Snoopy from the awesome Astronaut Mike McCulley. I loved working there to the moon and back! A job full of awe, indeed. I blindly shot a video for me as a keepsake when I can see. Thought I'd share it because I love you to the moon and back. I long for the day and night when I can see the wonders of this world that are out of this world. You know, God made the moon and stars to light the dark and govern the skies at night, and the sun for the day. They mark time and seasons for mankind. And are intertwined with mathematics and music. 💋🎙🎶 Guess who just got back today? Sam did. Boy, we're so very thankful. He's home from his ❤️ operation. Altho, a diff procedure than planned. They had to abort 1st operation because of serious life-threatening complications that sent him to ICU. 2 days later successfully implanted an ICD pacemaker. Rest, heal, strengthen ❤️, meds, get back to living & work, checkup🩺 3 wks. Hereditary ❤️ anomalies can be bad boys. Rare eye conditions as well, 💉 3 wks. But boy oh boy gotta fight on. You sure need big boy pants with health issues. Getting older isn't for sissies or thin skin either. Apologies for taking so long to respond & update. Needed some time for the discombobulation to ease up again. Everything feels worse when your vision is 2 wild eyed boys, warped, thick with dense haze & you gotta push thru. Made me think of a song we cover by Thin Lizzy, The Boys Are Back In Town! Now to get these ➡️👀 boys back in town! They've been gone too long & I've been hunting for them. Thru thick & thin, mostly thru the dense thicket of life's woods last 2 years. Making me dizzy pushing thru it. Ready for some thinned out clear light patches & I know Sam is too. Bless his ❤️. Life does give us times we have to navigate & hunt thru dark thicket woods & other times it's more clear. God promises to be with us thru thick & thin, thicket or clear, dark or light, which allows courage to steady us, ready us. For either! I confess, I'm ready for thin clear light of day. The thickness of stress can cause health & courage to get a lil thin. Ready for some Thin Lizzy & say bye to thick dizzy? Prayers? Always readily welcomed. I hesitated to post our cov from last year with the updates because I didn't want to to come off as thick headed or lighthearted about all this, I'm so not. Just wanted to ease our heavy hearts & MU🎼IC does that. Hope you enjoy it & it eases your heart. Thanks kindly to all who've been there thru thick & thin, in person, in prayer. Boy, that means a lot. 🌃🐦‍⬛ If my eyes look anything like they feel & if I could see them in the 🪞 they'd look pained, tired, sunken. But I can't let my spirit get sunken. The eyes get weary, dimmer, from fighting each other trying to balance, not get dizzy in the brain-training process. But I force them to do everyday tasks. Have you ever seen one of those round pillows that swirl around with a button in the center that pushes it in & it looks like a pinwheel? That's what it's like. Like there's something in my eye that makes everything look like a pinwheel while the other one is trying to heal. So twisted. But I won't give up. So look for that glimmer in the dimmer eyes. Subtle changes keep me working hard to take these broken wings & learn to fly again, take these sunken eyes & learn to see again. How did my appt at the Retinologist go? Well, it was torture, always takes time to recover from the meds but the swelling on macula went down a lot. Another round of injections in a month til it's all down, then time to heal debris & see where my eyes are. It has to be dormant for months to heal. He says because I have 2 separate rare eye issues (Maculas & Vit A Deficiency) going on at the same time, it takes more time. But, he has very high hopes. I have higher hopes. I think of man's time, things happening at the speed of man. Then I remember what we used to say when I worked at the Space Center. We always said "Godspeed". Happening at the speed of God. For me, that means God's timing & protection. Time that is miraculously out of this world fast & still safe speed🚀 & other times it means a hare slower 🐢. So, continuing Vit A foods, they're making positive changes for both issues. Injections, rest, purposeful activity around the house, leaning on God. Slow but remedying. Moving subtle-ly🐢, not shuttle-y 🚀. I can see objects & some color, however Foggy, Faded & Forlorn, thru left. Right is Freaky along with those other F adjectives. But ameliorating. Hardest part is the time. Takes time to fix broken. Leaning times can be learning times. Also, Sam's operation is Wednesday🙏. God can take all kinds of broke & restore, all kinds of sore & soar. 🤎🥀Well, we've come to the end of this intimate concert, and my 7th and final song in this "Velvet ✨️" song series is an original song titled One Heart. A song about the difference between being lonely and being alone. Being busy and being too busy. About the difference between happiness and joy. My "eyesight" journey has been a lonely journey, but I've not been alone. Being busy, working hard, has always been my escape and involves music much of the time. It's a bit more difficult to busy my mind and body without good vision, warped and dizzy from it. I've had to make some sense of it all and learn that touching, trusting feeling, is a valuable sense. Muscle and touch memory come in 🤚dy. What? Non sense is a valuable sense too, haha. I may have warped vision and a warped sense of humor but not a warped sense of faith. It too, like my vision just for now, is a hope of things not seen, but felt and touched and known. There's a place of longing in us that we try to fill that only God can fill that touches us and we know... Eyes and heart updates: I go back to 💉Retinologist next week and Sam has a surgery the week after. It would touch me and bring me joy to have prayers. I hope you have enjoyed this live setting of songs. It was so touching to have you join us. Remember happiness is like a brook in the desert, it's refreshing for a time but dries up from the sun. Joy from God is like an oasis in the desert with an endless eternal waterfall... I will settle for a touch of both. Makes sense to me. I need to have a touch of healing, touched by God, so's not a one can say, "she's a lil touched🤯" haha. Hope your Friday and weekend is good to your senses. The 5th song in my "Velvet ✨️" series is by Bonnie Raitt. One of my favorite songs and it's from one of those albums that every song on it is memorable. The album is Nick Of Time, the song is Nobody's Girl. The story behind this? Well, many years ago I had some neighbor girls like seven and eight, named Stevie and Nickie that lived next door. And they came over almost every day. One day they came over with a cassette tape and told me to have a listen. It was this album and they told me I should listen and sing these songs, they're perfect for you. I fell in love with the tape and bought my own and wore it out. Inevitably, every song was engrained in my soul, like millions of others. So, I hope this is memorable for you. Like the song goes I want it all. But I'll settle for seeing. This last year I've been fragile like a string of pearls, with my strength coming from God. I guess I'm Nobody's Girl in the sense that I make my own decisions and have my own ideas and I like to be different, but I am God's girl. I run everything g by Him. Here is song 4 in my "Velvet ✨️" Series. The Series title story can be found in song 1 video writeup. So, here we have a Doobie Brothers cover. They really have some great music. We chose to do Takin' It To The Streets. The song talks about "a living hell". I, like most of you, have experienced my share of living through tough times as well as good. My last 2 years have seemed like a living hell. Some days I feel burnt out, other days just lightly toasted, haha. But God is 'seeing' me through... Now Id'ave rather skipped right thru this fiery furnace like Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego in the Bible, without a hair on their head being scorched and another figure was seen in there with them. But sometimes you gotta go thru the fiery furnace so your faith doesn't burn out, knowing there is another figure in there with you. Anyways, I hope you are still comfy on your velvety seat or couch🛋 or booth while we take the music to the seats haha. I always mention this if we do any Doobie Brothers: I have a jean jacket that the Doobie Brothers signed on my collar in their later years at a concert.
