From Tracy about this Timelapse:

Composite/Timelapse/Focal Length Blend

Happy New Year! Well, we made it another year. Can’t say it was an easy one, but we haven’t seen seen any easy ones in a few years. Thank you so much for those that are supporting us; Instagram algorithm truly has done a number on engagement. Thank you to @astrolandscapes & @burakesenbey for all your hard work!

I’ll be the first to admit that as the years have gone by my motivation for getting my photography out there has dwindled; my motivation to shoot it still exists. So I start this year with a resolution to find a happy medium, where I am shooting and editing and getting my passion out to share, but not getting burnt out like I was before.

I’ve been wanting this composition for quite some time, and I really don’t know who originally shot it. But I headed out in September which I knew would probably not be good for alignment, but it was the time that I finally motivated to get out there, so while this is a completely possible timelapse and composition, it is a composite/focal length blend with a sky I did in another location nearby. I will probably go back this spring to try and shoot it again. Thank you to my girl @b3ccxx for heading out with me and keeping me & @dogoasawa company as I drove the road to get these crazy car trails.

A night under the stars with friends, strangers, & infinite possibilities. I associate the images I create with the great conversations & laughter
had.

I brought this image to life from a single frame taken a few weeks ago in Utah. I released the single image and now with about 4 days of editing, I am releasing this Parallax. This is
addictive process and I can’t wait to see how much better I get at it.

This is a Parallax in a series with a Photograph. It’s available on Foundation.app/tracylee

I don’t give away locations I’ve found especially ones that are super fragile like this one. This location has a formation with a flat top that many people take photos on, but I know it’s only gonna be a matter of time before that piece eventually collapses and with someone on top of it.. this is one of my favorite places to camp and I have been going there for probably 10 years at least. but because there are people on Instagram that want likes an engagement and can’t get them without giving up secret locations through personality alone..

Dustin, you should be ashamed of yourself. And the fact that you posted this on social media? I don’t even follow you and it showed up in my feed.

About 10 years ago today, right after the Lonely Speck meet up in Trona, I headed into LA to run some errands.. Being that it was still July session, I hit up @prevailz to see if he was going to shoot anywhere. It was up to Malibu for him on a Tuesday night I think so I headed up to meet up with him at an overlook above the marine layer. I didn’t stay very long, but I did get a bunch of shots to stack for noise reduction. This image took a lot of editing because of all the light pollution but I am very happy with how it came out. Thank you for content aware fill to get rid of planes!!

$8 years ago today I was gifted one of the most amazing sunset experiences of my life; one that I will never forget... to be dancing around, filming and photographing with such an incredible reflection with color coming from every direction was a truly humbling experience... I hope to luck out with even a fraction of this color when I go back later this summer... do you remember the best sunset of your life? Repost:

Being a photographer, it’s sometimes really hard to get cool photos of yourself, especially doing what you love to do. Big thanks to @bobshindelar Shindelar for taking this photo of me the other day during our hike at this red slot Canyon in Utah,. I love it!

Do you have a specific comp on ur bucket list & What is it? This one had been on mine for a couple years and I shot it today 2019! Swipe to see BTS —>

Repost:

This fri I took off to Sedona for a night. I had this comp in mind I missed last April when I was in Sedona because of it being wrong moon phase to get it lined up.

We had dinner at EloteCafe Saturday at 4:30 which always has a crazy line; they opened earlier than usual & we were one of the 1st to get in. You could say the stars aligned!

We drove about 15 min away to the trailhead &hiked in w/his dog, Princess Leia who was intent on catching as many lizards as she could. I misread &had thought the hike was 2 miles each way so was pleasantly surprised when we arrived so quickly.

I still had plenty of time to set up; sun had already gone down behind the mountains earlier than “sunset” but I planned to shoot this at both blue hour as well as light up the cave so I had options. Also seeing as I had never been here before I didn’t want to hike in the dark to get there. the options for setting up my camera were minimal because the walls of the cave were very steep as far back as I needed to get to be able to shoot for this IG Crop; I didn’t want to pano this Shot if I could help it. I threw my crop sensor lens ( @tokinausa 11-20) on my full frame 5DMK4 at 14mm which meant the corners would be missing data, but it wasn’t anything a little content aware fill couldn’t fix!

I shot my foregrounds at about 815 &then waited 3 more hours to shoot my sky. I had to keep climbing back up to my camera, &was shooting from a squatting position w/all of my weight pushing into my toes in my boots. Needless to say, my toes are still hurting &my muscles sore from spending so much time in this position. I ended up using a @luxlilight courtesy of @bhphoto to bounce a light off the walls of the cave; holding my arm fully extended for about 10min. I love the results so it was worth all the pain and effort!

Can’t believe this was 8 years ago this week! Ironically- I went to this area last week; new pics coming soon!!! What adventures do you have planned for the summer??

Repost @tracyleephotos:

Night 1 of TheGreatMilkyWayChase... There’s a lot I didn’t take into consideration when starting this endeavor. But one thing I did take into consideration was the fact that the moon was chasing right after the Milky Way on this 1st night and where we were, we had only an hr to shoot... my comp at this location wasn’t high enough to grab the full Milky Way before the moon started lighting up the sky.. This isn’t the comp I pictured here, but it is the comp I got; and besides that, I had such a blast exploring the area! we’re now waiting out the heat until we head out to scope our next comp for night 2!! Who else is competing??? We’ve got 3 more weeks to go and anyone is welcome join at any point. Each night is going to get easier as we go along in regards to light; harder in regards to weariness and burning out..
