BAL6, where do I even begin.

I’ve had the privilege of working across almost every continent, but one always felt like it was waiting for me. Africa. Home. Kigali. When the opportunity finally came, it was special in more ways than I can put into words. Some journeys take you around the world, the most meaningful ones bring you back to where it all began.

My father started with and coached the first APR basketball team. While helping rebuild Rwanda after the Genocide against the Tutsi, his generation also laid the foundation for the sport we celebrate today. Some of my earliest memories are of telling the neighborhood kids that he was out saving the world because he was tall and had the biggest hands. That’s where my love and admiration for the game began.

So being here felt like more than just another job. Witnessing @rssb_tigers make history by becoming the first Rwandan team to win the BAL, felt like watching a dream that had been quietly growing for decades finally bloom.
A full circle moment!

A major thank you to @thebal, the incredible team I had the privilege of working alongside, and all the beautiful people I crossed paths with along the way. Murakoze cyane!
