Sorry friends- had to remake this with the audio being better !

9/6/2026 - Sorry they’re darker..

Jett has baby time a few times a day.⁣
I lay down with him and he purrs, licks or suckles his blanket and makes biscuits while I pet him.⁣
⁣
When he and I first met, I couldn’t pet his full body. He did purr and suck his blanket for comfort. I hope he does now because he’s content.⁣
⁣
I’m not saint, I’m just glad I could help him. taken in SE Portland by @trailkitty

Three years ago tonight, I said goodbye to my big British baby Amber. ⁣
⁣
Adopted at six weeks old in Oct 2011 from a neighbor when I lived in England. ⁣
He moved to America six weeks before I did in Autumn 2012. ⁣
⁣
He didn’t have a mean or sorta smart bone in his body but he did have a big heart, a small meow & a gigantic purr. His presence is how I survived the worst of 2012. ⁣
⁣
He had single kitten syndrome and never learned how to play with Jasper. But he loved me and anyone I loved. He’d stare at me and purr. He probably would’ve loved a foster kitten. ⁣
⁣
I choose to remember him whole and healthy. I remember him with love, gratitude and sadness. To carry on is to honor him 🧡 by @trailkitty

Introducing Alex 🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍⁣
⁣
She is less scared than she was a week ago when I trapped her. ⁣
She is one of five 16-17 week old kittens that live in my colony. ⁣
⁣
Management asked me about removing them. Me removing them is the best option for these cats. They are not in danger of being hurt now as I laid out the plan and timeline. ⁣
⁣
The plan is to socialize her here until friendly enough to move to another home where she will have access to more people and noise. I live alone so can only do so much here. Even with the aid of using my old Macbook to play videos etc etc etc. . ⁣
⁣
I have friends helping with advice from the other side of the country. ⁣I am so thankful for their insight !!!
Remember, I work independently. No rescue or similar helps me.⁣
⁣
She was trapped on 11/30. She’s been coming on so well with her socialization journey. I’m working on both her coming to me for food and her eating on my lap and being pet while she eats. She likes under chin rubs and will purr. She put her little head on my hand today.. moments like that make this worth it. Saving her life and giving her a chance at forever inside. ⁣
(not with me. I don’t want another pet!)⁣
⁣
Once the weather and my stomach align again, I’ll try drop trapping them.⁣
⁣
I’ve created a wishlist for Alex.⁣
The link is in my bio. Donations truly make this possible ! ⁣
⁣
I was laid off to zero hours after I lost work hours due to having cat bite fever. Any donations help reduce financial stress for me. ⁣
⁣
Please don’t judge me. I’m one girl trying to do a lot for a lot with little energy. I hate having to say this but sadly, I’ve been judged and am now defensive. ⁣

⁣
It makes sense that the girl with the history of rescuing cats from precarious situations, that two decades later, has become the cat lady of her area. ⁣
⁣
This is just a fraction of the cats I feed and have helped get TNRed. ⁣
⁣
⁣
Donations of food and bowls are vital to me continuing to be a diligent caretaker. ⁣
This has always been the case given my income bracket (I am not shaming myself. If you are, please piss right off. You’re not welcome.)⁣
⁣
This is especially true right now as I keep seeking full time hours. ⁣
⁣
I’ve already bought a lot of wet food this week because it’s been too hard to ask for help again (because that trauma is huge atm) And I know that buying for them takes dollars I need to keep my lights on right now. ⁣
⁣
I simply have a very large colony and donations help take the sting out of the emotional labor of being a cat colony caretaker.⁣
⁣
I need your help to restock my colony cat cabinet. ⁣
⁣
My wishlist link is in my bio.⁣

Support needed 🤍⁣
⁣
The weather is turning quick here in Portland.⁣
⁣
I’ve made a Walmart wishlist of items to make outside shelters.⁣
In this list, I have included a ready made shelter that I could insulate and stuff with straw for this kitty and one for Stevie.⁣
⁣
This cat was dumped in my colony back in May and he is probably at a loss at where to shelter. Most of the under the building holes have other cats in them. ⁣
⁣
Your help is needed and appreciated. ⁣
⁣
The link for this wishlist is in my bio. ⁣
⁣
(Walmart is the more reasonable place to source these items. Don’t come at me for using Walmart, please. I’m one girl doing a lot.)🤍🫶🏻🙏🏼💜 taken in Gresham, Oregon by @trailkitty

Sept 2020 had a bad heatwave and air quality due to bad wildfires in the area. ⁣
Like triple digit air quality.⁣
⁣
Three months previous to finding Puppy, I lost my cat Möösh after a long and brave fight with kidney failure. I still had Amber & Jasper. ⁣
⁣
I was recently off work injured too. ⁣
⁣
Around 9pm on September 3 2020, I took my trash out and my life changed forever. ⁣
This small cat I previously knew came up to me for pets. After I hung out with her outside for a bit, I decided to test my luck and pick her up and she didn’t care. So I decided to rescue her. Surely the shelter would take her??⁣
⁣
No. Sept 2020 had us in Covid restrictions. No uninjured cats. (To be fair, I didn’t think of any cat rescues.) so she stayed with me.⁣
⁣
My vet helped financially to me get her the care she needed. Including a spay/abort because I didn’t want a new pet AND kittens.⁣
Puppy, then Baby J, made a great recovery. ⁣
⁣
She never socialized with the other two. My flat was a timeshare until Jasper passed in Feb. But her inability to accept other cats aside, she’s the best thing. ⁣
⁣
Her body size is petite. She had never weighed more than 8.5lbs. She doesn’t really meow. She makes a lot of peeps and weedles and chortles and chirps. She’s not super cuddly unless it’s rest time. She loves her breakfast chicken & sitting in the window when I shower. She loves pets and baby voice talking. ⁣
⁣
She truly is my living soul cat. ⁣
I see her as being my last pet cat. ⁣
Which I’m okay with. ⁣
⁣
I will always be thankful I took the trash out that night 🤍🩶💛🧡🤎 ⁣
⁣
To my smol girl, you remind me I’m good everyday. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you to Möösh for sending you to me. He knew I needed you 🤍⁣
