Lauren and I have been sitting on this for a while.

A little over a year ago, “Trails to Towns: North Georgia” became an idea that truly captured who we were becoming as a team. A deep love for the outdoors. Our local communities. And the privilege of guiding families through one of the biggest decisions they’ll ever make — where they live.

I got licensed as a Georgia real estate agent back in 2016. Just me, a solo agent, learning as I went.
After our son Sage was born and the complications that came with it, it became clear Lauren needed to step away from her job, even though it was remote. My business was growing so fast I couldn’t keep up. Major burnout.
Lauren wasn’t quite on board yet. She said, “Greg, you need to sell 10 more houses this year before I can even consider this.”

Lord willing, I did.

At the time, I had a transaction coordinator helping me out — that was it. We were outgrowing Goad Home Partners and becoming something so much bigger.

This rebrand captures exactly what we’ve become — the trails we love, the towns we call home. (And if you know me, some really cool merch is coming too.)

We’ve actually been beta testing this for over a year now on our YouTube channel.

No, Goad Home Partners isn’t gone. For a long time I joked that Goad Home Partners was just me and my dog Jack. Now it’s grown to me, my wife Lauren, our Client Care Coordinator James Betz, and Transaction Coordinator Jena Edwards.

Goad Home Partners is now Trails to Towns: North Georgia — real estate, brokered by REAL, happily serving clients from Marietta to the Mountains.

Giving Back 🤍

Today, we had the honor of donating a BIG check to Never Alone Food Pantry, an organization we’ve partnered with for the last year or so. We’ve volunteered and donated in the past but today, it was different…it was our biggest donation yet.

From our humble beginnings, even as far back as Greg’s personal story, to be able to give back in this way was such a surreal moment.

We’ve never really shared this part of our business but with every home we close, we set aside a portion to give back to our local churches and nonprofits.

This year we let that amount grow, and it felt right to bless an organization feeding so many in our community, especially this time of year. We were shocked to find out this donation will help provide almost 40,000 meals to local families.

We had the joy of surprising Lamar, the owner of Never Alone this afternoon. If you know Lamar, he is truly one of a kind!

His operations manager, Catrina, helped us pull off the whole surprise and it was awesome.

We decided to make it a family affair, bring the kids to tag along and I’m so glad we did. Lamar took special time to talk with them about what it feels like for kids who don’t always have enough to eat, and how the love of Jesus calls us to care for others the way He cares for us.

He even let the kids ride in the big truck and honk the horn - a moment they’ll never forget!

As it turns out, that same truck is headed to Sage’s elementary school tomorrow to hand out Thanksgiving boxes for over 200 families.

This is truly what it’s all about - why we do what we do. To give back is such a honor!

Cherokee County riders, this one’s worth a look before your next lap.

I’m still on an acoustic bike, but I’ve got plenty of friends riding e-MTBs. This isn’t an all-e-bikes ban: the county’s graphic allows Class I and II on mountain-bike trails, while Class III is prohibited. Know your bike’s actual class before heading out.

The fines caught my attention too. The graphic lists $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second and $1,000 for a third or later offense. Enforcement falls to the Cherokee Marshal’s Office and Sheriff’s Office. I’d love to hear how that will work out on the trails.

This is the county ordinance for unincorporated Cherokee. Cities have their own rules.

Y’all, Ellijay in the fall is hard to beat. Leaves changing, a stop at the apple orchard, the Georgia Apple Festival... then back home instead of back down the highway.

We’re sponsoring the Cherokee High School mountain bike team, y’all.

I never had this when I was in high school, all we had was the traditional sports. When I moved up here and found out there’s a high school MTB team, I knew Trails to Towns had to be part of it. Go give the Cherokee Warriors a follow and cheer ‘em on.
