CW44/52, season 22.
Some snow ❄️, some sun ☀️
More #dawnpatrol but also some #duskpatrol 😍
…i like it if the weather is changing and it may fell a bit uncomfortable 🥴 for some 🤩 #beingcomfortablewiththeuncomfortable

BTW: did throw my name in the hat of @wser 🤞🍀✌️ by @trailtomwagner

What do all of these 6 pictures have in common?

(i) it’s me (racing or at least giving my best that day; a 1/2-marathon with some vert, two 50(+)k with some more vert, two 💯 miles with even more vert, and 30 yards at a backyard ultra)
(ii) it is always the same shoe model on my feet: 005, two pairs of them, a “neve” and a “comet” version; that is all it took 😍🤩
(iii) all pics are from 2026, this year. My season 22 of trying to race…

…run hills, mountains & pavement; all surfaces, all distances, as they say. During @leadvilleraceseries Leadville 💯 I used a single pair of the @nordarun 005s (comet, pink stripe), during @istria100 it was both pairs, same at @austriabackyardultra in Wagendorf, at the @s1trail transkarst ultra only the neve (white), also at the @lindkogel_trail advanced trail and the @alpinteamaustria ATT50k…

…I own some other shoe models (of @nordarun), but obviously I seem to like to race in the 005s. 😉 And yes, I also train in these a lot. …and no this is no season (22) recap. Not done running hills yet. 😜

BTW: no I am not paid to run in these 😊🫶 by @trailtomwagner

…basically 2 months since @leadvilleraceseries Leadville 💯 and finally this Sunday I had a proper run again. The day prior was super hard with heavy legs, and I guess there is no one without the other. And there is also the time it takes to recover from a 💯 miles, especially if it was far above sea level and included a ton of traveling… thinking back to some of my good 💯 miles in the past, it is a month or two until the body is ready to push again, so glad this time frame is over and also a first sign of a “pushing ability” is there. Curious and hopeful for the final weeks of 2026 / season 22 and also grateful to have a body that allows me to play on the trails for that long already. Let’s hope for at least another 22 seasons 😜 and in the meantime I use my @leadvilleraceseries @buffofficial in a mix with that of the @wser and keep my fingers crossed for one of @hardrock100run 🤞🍀🫶 by @trailtomwagner

Season is almost over, at least it is changing… #5amclub is definitely a dark thing and layering up becomes more normal… anyway, always enjoy those darker, colder, quieter days/nights of the year. No blues, just rock and roll 🤘

some field work with some vert, some runch, some cheering 📣 for Lu and with Lu, some dawn patrols. Some hiking. Not complaining… Indian summer nicely spent.
…wishing for more good weather in the high country 🤞✌️

…well, this week 40 was basically about recovering from @alpinteamaustria ATT50 but more so from a little virus 🦠 or so, means some hanging around (in the gym and outside at a rockface) and finally on Sunday get in a little morning run… feeling better, roller coaster trending upward 🎢 . #hillyeah by @trailtomwagner

CW39/52, season 22.
tapering is always tricky: do you feel off cause of doing less or is there something off; especially when your runs are at #5amclub .This last week it turned out to be the latter. ATT 50k with some 3350m of vert started and I knew it will be suboptimal. Anyway, I wanted to give it my all and have fun out there at @alpinteamaustria . In the end I gave all I had on that day and probably more, and I had fun. More of the type 2 fun but actually after accepting that I have an off day and no legs, it did not get any worse. And I could enjoy the course and the atmosphere as well as the scenery. I made it to the finish line and thus finished all my races this year (besides a 30 loop @austriabackyardultra that is by definition a DNF even if you do the 3rd most amount of loops) and somehow this might be the last race of this season. Disappointing? Yes, a little. But who cares. I like running trails. And after recovering ❤️‍🩹 from this race and whatever is lingering in that (not so young anymore) body, I cannot wait to hit the trails again and run some more… #hillyeah #runmountains by @trailtomwagner

CW38/52, season 22.
some running, loads of other things. Don’t know why, but talks about my research always excite me but make me nervous at the same time. …anyway, from recovery from Leadville 💯 to tapering for @alpinteamaustria ATT in Werfenweng this coming weekend 🙈😜🤞

first ok week of training after our Colorado Trip; back into the #5amclub thing and work commutes… chasing salamanders and getting used to being a headlamp or two… I like that time of year. I like every time of the year. For running trails and in general.
BTW: I am still processing my race execution of Leadville 💯 , and realized now that I was the first non-North American participant crossing that finish line 🏁… so extra value for the big buckle 🤩✌️ by @trailtomwagner

CW36/52, season 22.
final days in Colorado and first days back home. Jet lag is real for a 5year old 😂😜🥰
…we spent the last days in RNMP and Boulder; tagged Green Mountain and we had a stroll up to Flatiron #2, and Lu said she wants to scramble up there when she is a little older, maybe 6 or 7. so maybe this means we should come back sometime (soon). Fingers crossed 🤞 for the @hardrock100run lottery… BTW: a good reason to invest in a little bigger bag and train again with poles. …dreaming aside, nice to be back home too. Still dreaming about one day getting a chance to go back to Colorado for a Hardrock loop. 🤞🍀😃
BTW2: nice to have my good coffee again @herr_werner_roesterei 😃❣️

this was all about looking for playgrounds and ice cream shops and no trail heads. Recovery week in Colorado. Lu is missing her friends from hope to play, and the parents try their best 😉🙈❣️
Feet are fine now; quads still a little sore. The wish to run is coming back, but carrying Lu on my back is enough for those quads 😜😂 …ok, I jogged a 1/4 hr… Maybe a little run in RMNP tomorrow?

Leadville 💯 Run, what a race, what a place. Not the pace I wanted but still the A goal of sub24 hrs (23:09hrs, 41st place) that is awarded with the big buckle. What an atmosphere, so cool to be greeted by my crew and the little big Dino 🦖 Lu 🤩; by then (Twin Lakes inbound) my quads were lost in the hills for hours and finishing was done by power hiking it in. It is at high altitude and the early miles should have been done a little easier probably 😉 Anyway, what an experience and what a race weekend. What a week in Colorado 🇺🇸 by now. Not a smooth travel and some camper van issues, but we got it sorted out and are now all ready for the remaining holidays here 🤩😍👌☀️
