It’s Momma Monday!

My mom’s my hero. She’s the strongest woman I’ve ever known, and her sacrifices have shaped who I am today. Born in the Philippines, she left everything behind to chase a better life for us.

She worked tirelessly to provide for me. From endless hours in factories to long days at the nail salon, and even driving trucks, she did it all. Every job was a step toward giving me opportunities she never had.

Her strength carried us through every milestone. I’ll never forget her cheering at my college graduation, her pride lighting up the room, or her support when I started my first job. She’s been my rock, always.

At her toughest moments, she’d tell me how I reassured her. She said I told her, “Don’t cry, Mom, everything will be alright,” and those words stayed with her. Now, as her only son, I’m keeping that promise—she’ll never have to worry about anything again.

Lessons from my Father — Miss you every day, Dad. I was only 3 when you left, too young to hold onto memories or build the bond I crave. I never got to ask for your advice, hear how you saw the world, or learn what made you laugh, fight, or dream. Yet, even though you left, you were still here, teaching me through your absence. Your loss revealed the true strength in Mom, showing me what resilience looks like as she carried us forward with love and grit. From sitting on your lap as a kid to standing tall as the man I am now, I carry you with me, hoping you’re watching and proud of who I’ve become. I strive to live in a way that honors you, even without knowing all the pieces of who you were. Love you always. ❤️

To my people: I’m a kid from North Hill Akron, raised where vices are close to touch, and dreams feel out of reach. I’ve felt the weight, carried the pain of loss—friends taken by violence, gone too soon, their voices echoing in my mind. Hardships piled up, from empty pockets to days that tested my soul. Yet here I am, still whole, still me, still standing with fire in my chest.

I’m just getting started, you all. There’s so much ahead—great things I’m meant to do, dreams I’m chasing that Akron kid could only imagine. I’m building something real, something bigger than the struggles I came from. Heights we’ll reach together, because I’m not in this alone—you’re with me.
