Another reintroducing post! I am a dinosaur now 😂

I’m Zoe Nichols mobile beauty therapist, NovaLash lash trainer, author and the owner of this account @trainerlash. 2025 marks my 20th year working in the beauty industry 🫶💕

I’ve travelled the world to lash, I’ve been featured in the Sunday times newspaper, on tv and in trade and mainstream magazines. I’m here on Instagram inconsistently consistently reminding you of best practice and things going on in the NovaLash world. There are also my training dates, should you want to sit a class with me and take your lash business to the top 💁🏼‍♀️

In 2022, I first published my book Lash Lessons- The best mistakes I made in my eyelash extension career and it was a double number one best seller on Amazon. 25 five star reviews to date ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I post about it a lot! Because honestly there is so much in there I wrote it as a step by step bible to starting out on your own. Everything you don’t have time for in a practical skill class.

Follow along for expert lash advice. I’m working in putting my past most valuable content in the ‘Tips’ highlight at the top of this page. This is also a peek into the day-to-day running of my business, more aimed at other professionals in the beauty industry.

10 years ago today, I sat my NovaLash American Volume class.

I’d already been lashing for a while and had owned my salon for six years. We were starting to see the huge Russian Volume styles appearing everywhere and I knew I wanted to learn volume… just maybe not quite like that. 😅

Then I read an article in Professional Beauty Magazine about NovaLash… a science-led US lash company… and booked myself onto a class in London.

An industry friend agreed to be my model that day. And I really did need her.

It was, without question, the hardest technical skill I had ever tried to learn. I finished the class feeling completely deflated by my work.

She looked at it and basically said: “You just need to keep practising. I love what you’ve done today. You’ve got this.”

So naturally, we went to Byron Burger, stuffed our faces and drank a bottle of wine each. 💁🏼‍♀️🍔🍷

I headed back to my salon afterwards - which had, rather helpfully, been randomly GRAFFITIED while I’d taken one weekend off 🙄😂 and started my case studies.

I had an amazing team around me who helped build my confidence, I kept practising, and eventually it clicked.

Ten years later, I still love this lash system.

My working life looks very different now. I’m mobile, many of my lash clients are long-standing infill clients I visit every 3–4 weeks, and they use their Clean Lash pads as part of their aftercare.

But the technique is still there.

And that one class went on to create ten years of opportunities I couldn’t possibly have known were coming when I sat there in London struggling with my first set.

The industry has changed.

My life has changed enormously.

But lashes have somehow remained one of my constants and there’s something really comforting about that. 🥹
