Not all intervals are created equal. ⚡
ㅤ
Micro-burst training lets you spend more total time at near-maximal output than traditional long intervals, without falling apart halfway through.
ㅤ
The result: more VO2 max stimulus, more muscle activation, more adaptation.
ㅤ
Spicy, but worth it.

We’ve all heard it. Most of us have said it.
ㅤ
"It was just a half marathon."
"I’m just middle-of-the-pack."
"It wasn’t a real ultra."
ㅤ
So in case you need a reminder: Your TSS has zero concept of self-deprecation—it strictly measures honest work and consistency.

What actually creates a faster pedal stroke?
ㅤ
Every sport has its own set of primary movers responsible for producing force and speed. For cyclists, those muscles live in the hips and legs—and maximizing them requires targeted work both on and off the bike.
ㅤ
Swipe through to see the exact anatomy of a pedal stroke and how to train each phase.
ㅤ
Training Tip → You can get the same on-bike strength training benefits indoors with TrainingPeaks Virtual—perfect for when you’re time-crunched, the weather isn’t cooperating, or you want to practice a race climb you can’t do in person.

The secret to your pacing strategy before race day 👇
ㅤ
You can now ride your next race course before you ever line up at the start.
ㅤ
TrainingPeaks Virtual just overhauled its setup, and GPXplore lets you upload any route directly to your smart trainer. I’m using it all winter to learn every incline and lock in my target power.

One win is a breakthrough. Three in a row becomes a habit. 🏆🏆🏆
ㅤ
Winning Portugal Cascais once is hard. Defending it for three straight years requires adapting to whatever race day throws at you. Despite a rough couple of months battling low iron levels and lighter training volume, @lizzierayner97 proved the engine was very much intact.
ㅤ
From navigating a choppy swim solo from the gun to grinding through heavy coastal headwinds, she rode with surgical discipline—rolling into T2 with a massive 5-minute cushion.
ㅤ
With an early qualification for next year’s 70.3 Worlds already in the bag, what was meant to be a late-season fitness check turned into a masterclass in poise, confidence, and pure race execution.

I talked about green box syndrome a few weeks ago, but have you heard of Hexis - maxxing?
ㅤ
Maybe not, because I made it up!
ㅤ
@hexis.live is a new app I am testing out that integrates with @trainingpeaks!
ㅤ
Your planned training integrates into Hexis and adjusts your fueling targets accordingly, based on the training you actually do throughout the day.
ㅤ
The two biggest things I wanted to know when I started using it were:
ㅤ
1. Am I having enough protein? It has turned out most days I wasn’t!
2. Am I eating enough on big days? I often was not, and then I was over-fueling on lighter days to make up for it.
ㅤ
I didn’t want to spend hours recording my food. @hexis.live makes tracking my fueling super quick and easy. My favourite feature allows you to just scan the food and it will populate what it sees very accurately! So simple!
ㅤ
So what is “Hexis-maxxing?" Just like green box syndrome, you are trying to hit all your fuel targets as if they are green boxes!
ㅤ
If you want to try Hexis-maxxing for yourself you can use the code NATASHAB25 on the Hexis website to get 25% off!

Endurance athletes aren’t immune to head injury
ㅤ
Effective treatment for TBIs is crucial, and biofeedback training is a promising modality.
ㅤ
In our latest article, we explore the science of biofeedback training with Dr. Jason Nupp. As an academy-certified brain injury specialist and a TrainingPeaks ultrarunner, Dr. Nupp provides a unique, athlete-focused perspective on how head injuries disrupt the autonomic nervous system.
ㅤ
He explains the relationship between our sympathetic and parasympathetic systems like a seesaw—and after a TBI, one side is often stuck up in the air. Biofeedback training uses metrics athletes are already familiar with (like HRV) to bring that seesaw back into balance.

Congrats to @ruthcrofty on winning the
2026 Diagonale des Fous in style.

27:13:23, 11th overall, and more than an hour clear of second. 180.5 km. 10,438 m of climbing on the longest course the race has ever offered on Réunion Island in the Indian Ocean.

"It was by far the most difficult race l've ever done. Two nights, no poles, technical terrain, changing climates, and a rollercoaster of working highs and lows. “

Ruth pushed through it all to take the win.

Plans change, and the one that works is the one that holds up when they do. Be ready.

This is the time of year when next year’s big goals start taking shape. What are you training for? by @trainingpeaks

CHAPTER 3 — Let Someone Hold You Back
ㅤ
"What Scott is really good at is holding me back."
ㅤ
@tomevansultra's instinct is always to push harder. @coach_scott_johnston's s job is knowing when not to let him. Every run gets logged in TrainingPeaks with how it actually felt, not just the numbers — and that honesty is what turns data into direction. It's a relationship Tom now passes on to the athletes he coaches himself.
ㅤ
And when you’re lining up for 180 km across volcanic ridges, restraint is the ultimate weapon. On Thursday, that preparation takes center stage as Tom takes on the route from Saint-Pierre to Saint-Denis. by @trainingpeaks
