The South Asian Trans Muslim Rights Forum (TMRF.SA) is organizing a virtual community consultation with queer, trans*, non-binary, and gender-diverse Muslims from across India and Kashmir as part of the broader Asha Committee Report process, a collaborative initiative being undertaken by a coalition of community-based organizations.

As part of its contribution to the coalition's work, TMRF.SA is facilitating consultations focused on the experiences, concerns, needs, and recommendations of queer and trans Muslim communities.

In view of the security, privacy, and confidentiality concerns faced by many queer and trans Muslim individuals, this will be a closed-door consultation exclusively for queer, trans*, non-binary, and gender-diverse Muslims. Participation will be by registration only. Access details and the meeting link will be shared via email with confirmed participants.

This is to inform that I, Aruvi Badrinath, am not a member of the Trans Community Kitchen (TCK) mutual aid collective. When I became aware of serious financial irregularities and allegations of sexual assault perpetrated by S Suresh (a) Srijith Sundaram, a member of TCK who had a large influence on the activities of the collective, I voluntarily and silently dissociated myself from it on July 31, 2025.

I have not been a part of any of its activities since August 1, 2025, and I am also not aware of any activities it may have conducted from that date. When I distanced myself from the collective, in a personal capacity, I made a reasonable effort to contact individuals who had regularly contributed monetarily to its activities to warn them privately of the irregularities and to inform them that I am no longer a part of this collective.

Today, May 18, 2026, I would like to extend a public warning.

Trans Community Kitchen does not have any established processes for taking cognizance of, investigating, or making conclusions about sexual assault and abuse. Moreover, until this date, I have not been made aware of any formal or informal process that is being followed by Trans Community Kitchen to investigate or acknowledge the allegations of sexual assault perpetrated by one of its members. To my knowledge, the collective has not publicly distanced itself from Srijith. It has not reached out to me to hear out my allegations of exploitation and non-sexual harassment that I have experienced.

It has also not taken any action, in my opinion, to meaningfully signal a commitment to investigate the allegations in a survivor-safe manner.

An email has been sent by this collective to its mailing list claiming that it is "pausing" its work to "ensure that due process is respected." The email also threateningly mentions that the collective "intend to resume our work once the situation has been responsibly addressed and all necessary processes have been completed."

Community Concerns Document 2
Priorities for trans, intersex, nb adults in abusive houses, relationships, or shelters

IF you are a community member, please reach out via DM or on our email:

About the document

We have received queries regarding what we must now consider while dealing with the reality of having to leave abusive homes, partners and even shelters, in light of the Trans Act 2026.
Based on some of our own experiences and our work with community we try to put down essential cautions and concerns around safety, healthcare and travel, and the limited legal rights we can try to assert in such situations.

These are limited cautions and do not replace legal advice in each situation. Please take care and reach out to community and legal aid workers; our inbox is open too.

Disclaimer
Nothing in this document is meant to replace legal advice or to encourage anyone to leave their homes. We recognize, as members of trans-nb-intersex communities how often we each face violence, abandonment, and exploitation in our families, relationships, and shelters.

This document is meant to inform our community of some of the precautions that can be taken and the legal rights we have as adult transgender persons to leave abusive situations and safeguard our body and mind, especially since the Trans Act 2026 and the State has withdrawn any minimal protections previously rendered. by @trains_trans

We don’t need better classification. We need less of it.
A short critique of the anthropological gaze & identarian obsession, by TMRFSA. by @trains_trans

The Trans-Intersex Self-Respect Coalition is a group of trans, non-binary, gender diverse and intersex persons who are concerned by the dilution of the single demand for the unconditional withdrawal of the trans bill 2026.

While it is important to speak of identities and experiences, in this fight of legality and constitutionality, it is most important to show that the Trans Bill 2026 is an exact and entire reproduction of the Criminal Tribes Act 1871 (Part ii: Eunuchs).

As such we request the various members of the Reject TRANS bill movement to come together on this and focus educational and other material on this simple and unquestionable fact. That this government cannot bring back a colonial law already repealed for being unconstitutional.

We are soon hoping to publish a resource document containing our best answers (some authoritative statements, some educated guesses) to some of the concerns raised by the trans and intersex communities.

We recognise the founder of the self respect path to the trans struggle as artist/activist Living Smile Vidya and send her our love and thanks. We are committed to a collective evolving politics founded on Babasaheb Ambedkar and Thanthai Periyar

Please educate, organize and agitate, with us! More soon. Hul Johar, Jai Bhim, Jai Savitri - Always self-respect first! by @trains_trans
