Hi, I’m Avery! 🤍

NASM Certified Personal Trainer
1:1 Personal Training
📍 Austin, TX + Online

Here’s a little bit about me →

I recently graduated from the University of Arkansas and moved to Austin, TX!

Now I’m building my career doing something I genuinely love, helping people feel stronger & more confident. 🫶🏼

Before lifting, I danced for 6 years!

My relationship with fitness hasn’t always been the healthiest. For a long time, exercise was about trying to make my body smaller.

Lifting helped me shift my focus toward getting STRONGER, building muscle & appreciating what my body can do. 💪🏼

I don’t believe fitness has to take over your life.

I love lifting & running, but I also believe in rest days, trying new things, having fun and finding movement you actually enjoy.

Fitness should add to your life, not become your whole life.

I’m a big believer that no food needs to be “off limits.”

It took me time to learn that balance actually means enjoying the foods I love without feeling like I have to “make up for it.”

And when it comes to meals… simple > complicated always. Life is hard and busy as is so I like to keep it simple and quick!

If I’m not at the gym, you can probably find me outside. ☀️

Walking, running, swimming, traveling or literally just sitting on my balcony.

I love trying new coffee shops and restaurants when I have the time.

I love spending time with my friends & family, exploring Austin and enjoying life outside of fitness.

Because at the end of the day, I want health & fitness to help me live MORE, not keep me from living.

I’m passionate about helping women get stronger, build confidence and better understand their bodies.

No extremes. No perfection.

Just building habits that fit YOUR life. 🤍

YES, you can have abs and still eat what you want!

I LOVE my sweets — cookies, cake, all of it lol… but i also love feeling good and working toward my fitness goals.

You don’t need to cut out sweets completely to stay lean, you just need balance and to be mindful of what you are putting in your body!

I’m not eating dessert every night, but I do love going out to get something with my friends 1-2 times a week (depends on the week). This way, you are also eating sweets in moderation and spending time with friends/family.

the difference is just being aware and not overdoing it

also… your abs are a muscle
if you want them to show, you have to train them

weighted ab exercises changed everything for me — cable crunches + hanging leg raises are my go-to

and don’t underestimate this:
movement matters more than you think

walking, staying active, not sitting all day… it all adds up!

Theres a lot more that goes into it and this is just my 2 cents!

The scale went up overnight… but that doesn’t mean you gained fat. 👀

Your weight can fluctuate day to day for SO many reasons:

→ More carbs than usual = more glycogen + water stored
→ A higher sodium meal = temporary water retention
→ A hard workout = inflammation + water retention while your muscles recover
→ More food still being digested
→ Hormonal changes throughout your cycle
→ Changes in hydration

Gaining actual body fat requires a sustained calorie surplus, one higher weigh-in does not erase your progress.

This is why you shouldn’t be judging your progress based on one number on one morning.

Look at the trend over time, how you feel, how your clothes fit, your strength, your measurements, and your progress photos.

If your goal is to build muscle, this is one training principle you NEED to understand:

Progressive overload.

Your body is incredibly good at adapting. If you continue giving it the exact same training stimulus over and over again, eventually that stimulus isn’t as challenging as it used to be.

That’s why your training should gradually progress over time.

And no… progressive overload doesn’t mean you need to add weight every single workout.

Progress can look like:
→ Using a heavier weight
→ Performing more reps with the same weight
→ Improving your range of motion
→ Using better technique and control
→ Making the same weight feel easier over time

This is also why constantly changing your workouts can make progress harder to track.

You don’t need to confuse your muscles. You need to challenge them and give them a reason to adapt.

Track your lifts. Focus on getting stronger. Give it time.

Stop changing your workouts every week if you actually want to see progress 👀

Muscle growth doesn’t come from constantly finding new exercises, it comes from getting BETTER at the ones you’re already doing.

When you keep your main lifts consistent, you can actually track your progress:
- Add weight
- Add reps
- Improve your form
- Increase your control
- Get stronger over time

Your workouts don’t need to be new every week to be effective. Give your body enough time to adapt, get stronger, and PROGRESS.

Consistency > constantly switching it up.

Maybe the goal isn’t to get smaller. Maybe it’s to get stronger.

We’ve been taught for so long that the goal is to weigh less, eat less, and take up less space.

But what if the goal was to get stronger instead?

Lift heavy. Eat enough. Build the muscle.
Chase strength instead of constantly chasing a smaller body.

You might be surprised how much better you feel when you stop being afraid of taking up space. 🤍

No machines. No complicated setup. Just dumbbells and a workout that gets the job DONE.

Perfect for a busy day when you want to get in, work hard, and get out 👏

- Dumbbell RDLs
- Sumo Squats
- Reverse lunges
- Hip Thrusts
- Bulgarian Split Squats

Simple doesn’t mean easy! Focus on good form, controlled reps, and challenging yourself with the weight.

I don’t wake up at 3am… 😭 but since I couldn’t sleep, figured I might as well make a morning routine out of it lol.

Normally I’m up around 5am, which is MUCH more doable.

I was running on about 5 hours of sleep this day and definitely felt it. A good reminder that on those off days, it’s important to listen to your body and give yourself some grace.

Sleep affects SO much more than just feeling tired it affects your energy, mood, appetite, cravings, stress, and recovery can all take a hit.

One bad night won’t ruin your progress. Listen to your body, adjust when you need to, and keep going 🤍

🍑 Do this glute workout if you actually want to build a shelf.

No 15-exercise booty day needed, just a few solid movements, done with intention + progressive overload.

THE WORKOUT:
→ Hip Thrusts
→ Smith Machine RDLs
→ Good Mornings
→ Cable Kickbacks

Heavy compounds first. Isolation to finish. And most importantly, focus on getting stronger over time. 👏🏼

Your upper body WILL change when you stop being scared to train it 👀

One of my current chest + shoulders + tris days:

→ Shoulder press
→ Incline dumbbell bench press
→ Tricep pushdowns
→ Bench dips
→ Lateral raises

Reminder: training upper body isn’t going to make you “bulky.”

Strong shoulders + defined arms are ALWAYS the goal!

Save this one for your next upper body day!
