It’s one thing to admire someone else’s progress and use it as motivation. It’s another to diminish your own progress because it doesn’t look like theirs.

Be kind to yourself and learn to appreciate how far you’ve come. Your progress deserves to be celebrated too. by @trainwithseane

Something I don’t share often, but 8 years ago I was roughly 12KG heavier & extremely unhappy with my body.

The second photo was taken during my 5-month OE. No structure - eating and drinking my way around the world 🌍 which led to an 8kg weight gain.

Flash forward 7 years and I’ve only JUST found a routine and structure that works for me. Including a better understanding and execution of nutrition and newfound value around fueling my body correctly (thanks @brodystaggard_fitness 🫶🏽)

Extremely proud of the progress and choices I’ve made to be selfish and put myself first. 18-year-old me would be in disbelief at what I look like and how I feel now.

But the stark difference between 2019 and 2026 Seane is structure & consistency over perfection 🫶🏽 by @trainwithseane

About 12 months ago I was the healthiest and strongest I have been (or so I thought).

2 weeks before my half marathon I did my IT band and 6 months later discover I had bulged 5 discs in my back 🤡✌🏽

Fast forward a year, I’m finally back in the gym less often, but consistently, fueling my body properly and ironically lifting heavier - more consistently and without pain than I was at my “healthiest”.

So I guess this is my welcome to a new page I’ve been wanting to make for a while. Where I just chat shit, train and continue to show up for me and my body while I learn to retrain effectively and properly 🫶🏽

Kisses, okay bye 😚 by @trainwithseane

I used to let one missed workout turn into “I’ll start again Monday.”

Then Monday became next week, and I was back to feeling like I couldn’t follow through.

What helped was making promises I could actually keep, even during a messy week. And learning that missing a session didn’t erase the sessions I’d already done.

You don’t need to write off the week because one day didn’t go to plan. Give yourself permission to pick up where you left off 🤍 by @trainwithseane

I used to feel like taking a rest day meant I wasn’t doing enough.

More sessions, more running, more effort. Even when my back was telling me to pull back, I felt guilty for doing it.

But pushing through symptoms that were getting worse started affecting things as simple as washing my face, let alone my next training session.

That experience changed how I viewed recovery. Sometimes commitment means showing up. Sometimes it means adjusting the plan and giving yourself time to recover.

Give your recovery the same commitment you give your training. You don’t need to earn a rest day through exhaustion 🤎 by @trainwithseane

One frustrating week doesn’t tell you everything about your training plan.

Before changing it, look at what’s been happening over time. Have you been consistent? Are your reps, weights or technique improving? Does the workload fit your life?

Sometimes you need an adjustment. Sometimes you need to give yourself more time.

Review it, make changes where needed, and give yourself a chance to build on the work you’ve already done 🤎 by @trainwithseane

18-year-old me would have a lot of questions 😂

Eating more, lifting weights and actually feeling comfortable in my own skin. It took time to get here, but I’m proud of how much my relationship with food, training and myself has changed.

Some of my favourite progress is getting dressed without overthinking it, enjoying a meal without guilt and appreciating what my body can do.

She’d be shocked, but I think she’d be proud 🤎 by @trainwithseane

My Sunday reset went completely out the window when our dog got sick and needed to stay at the emergency vet overnight.

I’m someone who loves a routine, so this morning I took a minute to work out what actually mattered and rearranged my week around that.

A messy Sunday doesn’t mean you’ve failed before Monday has even begun. Sometimes keeping your word to yourself means adjusting the plan to fit real life 🤎 by @trainwithseane

I gained 4.5 kg over a 13 week surplus while eating around 3,100 calories a day.

I’d spent so long believing that eating less meant making progress. Learning how to fuel my training showed me that growth sometimes asks you to do the opposite.

Yes, I got stronger. But the biggest shift was in my relationship with food. Understanding why I was eating more gave me the confidence to do it without feeling like I was going backwards.

Growth isn’t just what you see in the progress photos 🤎 by @trainwithseane

Putting my plate on the scale takes about 30 seconds. It doesn’t add hours to making a meal.

For me, those 30 seconds mean I know what I’m eating instead of guessing and wondering why my progress isn’t matching my effort.

You don’t have to weigh your food forever. But if you have a specific goal, getting a clearer picture of what you’re eating can help you make more informed changes 🤎 by @trainwithseane

I used to think every session needed a heavier weight to count as progress. After dealing with my back injury, I learned to slow down and pay attention to how I was moving.

A more stable position, a controlled rep and better technique count too. Practise the movement before you chase the load 🤎 by @trainwithseane
