The bounce in these vomero’s… 😮‍💨 by @trainwithyusef

A few months ago I couldn’t get to a mile at pace without dry-heaving on the side of the road. On Saturday I crossed the line of my first marathon, with my fiancée and her daughter cheering me in.

It wasn’t the sub-4 I dreamed about. But mile 22 is where my last build died before lockdown in 2020, and this time it’s exactly where I dug in and ran through it. Farther than I’ve ever gone.

Swipe for what 26.2 miles taught me. Because here’s the truth: nobody starts ready. You don’t wait until you’re strong enough, fast enough, or sure enough. You start buried, and you dig, one unremarkable morning at a time.

The marathon was never the end. It’s one step, and I’m already chasing the next.

No one starts ready. You get ready.

Start where you’re at… imperfect, unprepared, a little scared…and build from there. The readiness comes from the showing up, not before it.

3/4 of a mile to 26.2. One ugly, slow run at a time.

Whatever you’ve been putting off, go get after it. ❤️
