South Dallas is often talked about.

We believe it deserves to be invested in.

TYT was founded on a simple idea: communities thrive when people show up for one another.

Through outreach, advocacy, mentorship, and service, we’re committed to doing our part.

This is why we serve South Dallas.

Behind every mission is a story.

Transforming Your Trauma didn’t start as an idea—but lived experience. It started with seeing the weight people carry in silence and deciding to do something about it.

This work is personal.
This work is purpose.

And every step forward is about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and safe enough to heal.

If you’ve ever had to carry more than you should’ve… this is for you. 🦋

THANK YOU, Friends. 💜

This past weekend’s South Dallas Community Block Party exceeded anything we could have imagined.

None of this would have been possible without our God for this vision, every volunteer, partner, sponsor, organization, business owner, and every person who simply showed up with a heart to serve.

This weekend reminded us of something powerful: when people come together with one mission, there is no limit to the lives that can be impacted.

As we looked around, we realized we all had one thing in common… not the same background, not the same profession, not the same story…. but the same heart.

A heart to serve.
A heart to love.
A heart to give.

Thank you for becoming more than supporters. Thank you for becoming our friends, our family, and our partners in this mission.

Thank you for trusting the vision. Thank you for sharing your time, your resources, and most importantly, your heart.

Because of you, our community was reminded that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Together, we proved that when a community stands together, hope becomes unstoppable.

Until next time… thank you for helping us fight against hunger. 💜🥊

June was just the beginning. 🦋

Because of our volunteers, donors, and community partners, we were able to serve fresh meals, distribute hygiene essentials, and show up with compassion for our neighbors in South Dallas. Every meal, every donation, and every conversation reminded someone they were seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us transform compassion into action. We can’t wait to continue this work together.

Next, we made our way to the @mf_fighthunger to donate 250 hot dogs for their South Dallas Block Party.

Every station met an essential need—from clothing and haircuts to hygiene supplies and hot meals. It was beautiful to see so many organizations, volunteers, and community members coming together with one shared purpose: serving our neighbors with dignity and love.

We truly enjoyed spending the day with each of you. Community partnerships matter, and we will continue to show up and show out for our partners and for South Dallas. 💜🖤🤍 taken in Dallas, Texas by @transformingyourtrauma

Today was truly a day of service for South Dallas.

We started the day by donating water and helping with setup alongside the @thewalterbrucefoundation . It was inspiring to see our fellow community partners in action, serving with compassion and a shared commitment to our community.

There’s something special about coming together to do what we love most—community outreach. Together, we’re making a difference, one act of service at a time. ❤️ by @transformingyourtrauma

Want change? You’ve got to be the change.

Today, our founder attended the Dallas City Council meeting to speak on behalf of nonprofits and faith-based organizations that are feeding our neighbors, distributing clothing, and providing basic necessities to our most vulnerable and unhoused communities.

We specifically spoke about South Dallas—a historic part of our city that has too often been underfunded and overlooked despite having tremendous strength, resilience, and need.

It was encouraging to hear the Mayor, City Manager, and City Council acknowledge that equitable investment is needed to address the growing homelessness crisis and support our at-risk communities.

This conversation doesn’t end today. I’m committed to continuing this work, advocating for South Dallas, and ensuring that the voices of the communities we serve are heard.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned through community work is that service is not a one-time event.

It’s a commitment.

Every month, we encounter individuals and families facing food insecurity, housing instability, and barriers to resources that many of us never have to think about. Yet despite these challenges, we also encounter resilience, dignity, and hope.

On July 12, 2026, Transforming Your Trauma, Inc. will return to South Dallas for another Serve the City Sunday initiative.

We will be distributing:
✅ Fresh meals
✅ Hygiene kits
✅ Clothing and blankets

This work is made possible through the generosity of volunteers, community partners, and supporters who believe that meeting immediate needs is an important step toward long-term community transformation.

As someone who studies leadership, trauma, and organizational sustainability, I often think about what it means to lead beyond the walls of our institutions. Community leadership requires us to move from awareness to action.

If you would like to volunteer, partner, donate, or simply help us spread the word, we would love to connect.

Because healing-centered communities are not built by one organization.

They are built by people who decide that someone else’s struggle is worth showing up for.
