As a part of Right to Remain's Week to End Immigration Detention, Trans Harm Reduction is running a public workshop about self-medding in the immigration system. The workshop will include considerations for migrants, their allies, and will have an open Q&A.

The event itself is free to end, but in interests of safeguarding, one must register beforehand, so please email us at transharmreduction[at]protonmail[dot]com to confirm your attendance. Remember!! Email us first if you're planning to attend!!

Please email us with the subject "Registration for the Event", Name, and allergies or food restrictions if you have any!

It will be hosted @listengallery on 21st of October, Wednesday , 17:00-20:00. Food will also be provided.

While the event is free, we are also collecting optional donations on the door !

Accessibility!
The space itself is step-free, and the bathroom is wheelchair accessible. It is also a sober space. We ask you not attend if you are ill. The closest train station is High St. (<10m walk away).

CONCENTRATION DISCREPANCY MAY BATCH
(July batch is OK!)

The results from a recent round of testing have come back showing that the concentration of Hera HRT’s May batch of estradiol enanthate was roughly half the concentration advertised. These results are from multiple samples from the same batch and validated by two different labs.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME?

If you’re using a Hera HRT vial, check which batch it’s from. If it’s from the May batch, we’d recommend getting a new vial and checking your hormone levels as you may have been under-dosing yourself.

DON’T PANIC

We found no contaminants in either of the vials tested, and Hera HRT’s July batch came back at the correct concentration. It is likely there was a production error for the May batch resulting in the concentration discrepancy.

Again, the discrepancy is ONLY in the May batch.

Like it says we're the ONLY programme in the world doing lab testing of HRT sources used by trans people who are self medicating.

We've been running this programme since 2022 and so far in 2026 we've published results on six different suppliers on our website.

The programme is run by a handful of unpaid volunteers and we need support to continue operating. Please consider donating if you can, and which you can do via the link in our bio!

Estrogen supply disruption -- We are hearing reports of supply disruptions for self medicating communities across the UK and Ireland, and wider Europe. Some sources we have previously tested have gone offline, and new sources have come online. We want to test these suppliers. tests cost about €350 / £300 each. If you can support these tests, linktree in bio or QR codes on slide three. (if you have a supplier you want us to test, email us. we prioritise suppliers to the UK and ireland as those are the areas we support directly) Supply Disruption: Estrogen. Cork Alt Pride puts liberatory Marxist politics at the centre of queer discourse, reigniting Pride as a protest, not a parade. We believe legal wins that attain concessions from the capitalist state like gay marriage are tools on our way to organise socialist revolution and queer liberation. They are not the end goal in themselves. We fundraise not just for ourselves but for queer orgs in Ireland and internationally. At last years alt pride, €500 was raised. 40% of that went back to Cork Alt Pride, and the remaining 60% was split between:

🧡 Trans Harm Reduction (Scotland/Ireland)
Provide trans-led, life-saving work such as testing DIY HRT for quality, provide healthcare funds, peer support, and connect the trans community with sympathetic GPs (while the National Gender Service has a 10+ year closed waiting list).

🧡 alQaws (Palestine)
Queer Palestinian civil society org disrupting patriarchal, capitalist, and colonial oppression. They've faced repression from the Palestine Authority who have banned their events, arrested them, and conducted military-style interrogations mirroring the IDF. Their work includes counselling, running community hubs in Ramallah, Haifa, East Jerusalem, Jaffa, and mutual aid. Internationalism must not replicate capitalist hegemony nor support imperialist expansion as we currently see in West Asia. By supporting alQaws, Cork Alt Pride helps cut through pink washing at home, especially during genocide and imperialist expansion. Cuirimid ár ngrá agus ár ndlúthpháirtíocht gan teorainn.

We're excited to be organising a self med 101 workshop on May 10th. 🙌

A large proportion of trans people in Ireland choose or are forced to self medicate with THR linked to the abysmal state of trans healthcare. We are campaigning as hard as we can to change this situation, but in the meantime we want to empower people who want to self medicate to do so as safely and responsibly as possible. We'll be covering issues such as:
🧪 HRT testing and safe sourcing advice
💉Accessing injecting supplies & injecting safely
🩸 Blood tests
💬 Where to find support

The HSE is working to develop a new model of trans healthcare. We all know the National Gender Service must go, but what comes next?

We have no faith that the Department of Health and HSE, who have abandoned the trans
community for so many years, have our best interests at heart. Even worse, senior NGS
officials are involved in developing the ‘new’ model of care. Those responsible for the problems we're facing will not be the ones to fix them!

As the trans community and allies, we must take action to ensure our voices are heard. We have the following demands:

1) That the new model of care should be based on the principle of informed consent and accessed in primary care settings (i.e. through your GP).
2) That no NGS clinicians are involved in the process of developing the new model.
3) And end to the connection between the provision of trans healthcare and religious
institutions
4) That the Department of Health and HSE issue interim guidance to GPs about how they can provide necessary healthcare (such as HRT prescriptions and blood tests) while the new model is being developed.

To support our campaign and make sure our voices can’t be ignored, sign our open letter to the Minister of Health and HSE management through the link in our bio

We particularly welcome endorsements from LGBT+ and other community/political organizations.

Once we have sufficient support we will be delivering the letter direct to the Minister and HSE so they have no choice but to listen to our demands!
