Perspective is Everything is out now. The track is a collaboration between two distinct artistic voices, working together to continuously reframe one another through the performance and spatial interplay of the track’s music video. @transistor_rhythms hypnotic techno structures merge with ethereal, trance-inflected vocals from @bekimachine to create a carefully constructed depiction of the tension of a shifting world, that subtly reinforces the central idea: that perspective really is everything.The music video created by the visionary Berlin based filmaker @tom.whits.on premieres at 1pm on @Youtube A detailed and spacious master from Bristol’s own @edetto__ and @flat7bristol brings the track’s world fully into focus. It’s not often you get a chance like this. UK electronic giants @feelmybicep put up the stems for one of the records of their latest CHROMA series, UMBER and put out an open invite for artists to remix it.With trance melodies and cataclysmic breakbeats fit for the end of the world, this is my interpretation.I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed working on it. A few recents playing with perspective, angles and geometry. This is a combination of shots straight from the iPhone taken in Manchester, Cornwall and around Bristoland some stills from the music video to my latest single which is collaboration with vocalist Bekimachine. The track came out 6 weeks ago and has had a load of support on Radio 1 from Jaguar and BBC Introducing. The music video explores space and tension by using some creative camerawork to capture the essence of Bekimachine and I performing the track. Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt is probably one of my favourite tracks I’ve written. It’s probably as close as I’ve gotten to the feeling I want my music to convey - with emotion and a fully uplifting energy, juxtaposed against Amen and Think breaks and a slamming techno beat. The music video aligned perfectly with the track’s narrative, depicting two dancers training and pushing themselves to overcome the odds within to take one step closer in the pursuit of perfecting their craft. This track just turned two years old and I’m still very proud of it. There’s plenty more on the way in the very near future as well. Some of my favourite stills from Perspective is Everything. The video was shot in Bristol’s Cumberland basin. It’s the main entrance to the city docks and has a massive expanse of intertwining roads and swing bridges which allow ships to pass into the city. The roads are all supported by these enormous pillars, which have always just cried out warehouse techno to me. I’ve wanted to use this space for something creative for years. @tom.whits.on really did an incredible job of capturing the performance and the space so dynamically, really playing into the visual imagery we intended for the track to create while using the location to its fullest. I take music seriously, probably too seriously at times. To the point of absolute obsession. I fucking love it. To the point where I’m endlessly inspired by the incredible artists I have the privilege of listening to at just the click of a button in this modern time. I think it’s high time I dropped some new TR material, so I can keep making my contribution to the world of art I love so much. I’m incredibly lucky and grateful that I get to make music and in the last year I’ve massively stepped my game up. I’ve had the honour of working and collaborating with some truly visionary creatives, in a multitude of fields, who have made a huge impact on me and my creative work. These wonderful people know exactly who they are. They have given me new perspective which has raised my levels and made me completely re-evaluate how I see this music project going in the future. I’m going in. Next week, I’m putting out the next record on Transistor Rhythms, my self titled label, and I hope you dig it. It’s a collaboration between myself and what has ended up being a small (but very powerful) team to create something that was far beyond my initial imagination and I can’t wait to put it out into the world. One of the creatives I’m talking about is @andrepattendenprojects - a phenomenally deep music explorer and a very talented cameraman who I’m grateful to for shooting this pic.
