**What does TransSupportReno do with money?**
**Mutual Aid Fund**
The TSR Mutual Aid Fund is a cash-fund to financially aid TSR members who need help with bills, emergency expenses, food, etc.
**Who can use it?**
It is available to active TSR members who attend at least one in person meeting every 3 months
**How can I donate?**
Members can donate by bringing cash to a meeting. Nonmembers can donate by supporting us at events. Proceeds from tabling are split between the Mutual Aid Fund and group expenses, such as buying materials for tabling. by @transsupportreno

**What is Trans Support Reno?**
Trans Support Reno (TSR) is a mutual aid organization whose goal is to support adults (18+) in the Northern Nevada area.

**How does TSR do this?**
We hold emotional support meetings every 1st, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of the month where we share what has been happening recently in our lives and anything we may want feedback or advice on. TSR also has a Mutual Aid Fund (open to members only) that members can request assistance from for most financial needs. On 2nd Tuesdays, we have Action meetings where we work out business issues and vote on anything that needs collective review. On 5th Tuesdays, if there is one, we may have a potluck or workshop.

**But...**
TSR is not only what we do, we are also a community! People who have consistently participated in Trans Support Reno have made lifelong connections: friends, partners, roommates, and people you can turn to when things get hard or you're not sure what to do. TSR is not just for people who "need" it: TSR is also a place where you can meet more transgender people in the area and make incredible connections. TSR is for people who are questioning their gender, are far along in their transition, those who just came out, or anywhere in between! You do not have to view yourself as struggling to give or receive support in this community.

**How do I become a member?**
Show up! We meet at OUR Center every Tuesday from 6-8pm. After coming to two meetings, members can gain full access to our members-only Discord. Members who come to 3 working meetings per quarter (committee meetings, Action meetings, and/or business meetings) also gain "working member" status, which grants them emergency voting privileges--these privileges are essential and help us get money to people in need quickly when we need to have emergency aid votes. by @transsupportreno

TSR would like to send a reminder to current and future members about everyone's safety after meetings. Those who find themselves in a position where you must loiter in the area, please be aware of your surroundings and take precautions such as a buddy with you and a plan for egress." by @transsupportreno

Yesterday (9/14) was Trans Day of Insanity on the Trans Days of Observance calendar. We’re late because we couldn’t quite figure out what to say about the subject to give it its due respect because things like psychosis, schizophrenia, and delusions are serious things that often have massive impacts on people’s lives, yet the language people use in day to day treats these as insults uses them as ridicule. According to Rena Yehuda Newmans Trans Days of Observance calendar, today is Trans Day of Apology. In honor of that, a member of our group has written a poem:

Apologies, by anonymous:

I spent a lot of time
saying “I’m sorry.”
And I always meant it,
even in situations where it just wasn’t appropriate.

What does “I’m sorry” even mean?
Sympathy, apology, excuse, mistake?

Sometimes “I’m sorry” means:
I wish that didn’t happen to you.
You deserve better.
I love you and I recognize your pain.
My condolences.

Sometimes “I’m sorry” means:
That was my fault.
I did something wrong.
I am taking responsibility.
My apologies.

Sometimes “I’m sorry” means:
I am in your way.
My body made a noise I couldn’t control.
My wants interfered with your wants.
Excuse me.

Sometimes “I’m sorry” means:
I made an error.
It wasn’t my fault.
I still wish I hadn’t.
My bad.

I think
maybe it’s better
if I never say “sorry”

A hearty thanks again to everyone who stopped by on Sunday for our Trans Day of Joy. And we’re not letting that joy stop! From September 1st - 30th you can stop by @renogenerator to see our Trans Day of Joy art exhibition called ‘Coming Alive and Apart’. Members of TSR have worked hard to put together pieces inspired by personal joy.

What an amazing day!!! Thank you to everyone who volunteered, tabled, performed, and showed up to our very first ever Trans Day of Joy event. Here we go! Tomorrow, Aug 30th join us at @hollandreno for Trans Day of Joy!
10am - 2pm: Workshops and activities
-Guided button making 11-12
-Sewing w/Alice 12-2
-Drawing/coloring/writing table and community canvas
2pm-4pm: Rest period
-Therapy exercises w/Christina Cendejas
-Attendees are encouraged to eat (there will be food trucks!), decompress at one of the art tables or with a book at our little pop-up Trans 'Library', or rest in their own way
4pm-6pm: TSR member showcase
-Poetry, music, and drag performances by various members including Vida, Nura Calise, and Punki Pixi
6pm-9pm: Local trans and nonbinary musicians perform
-Join GenderTheft, TashaYasha, and AWESUMFACEXD as they play out the night with some sweet sweet music

Throughout the day we will also have some other local organizations sharing information and answering questions. We will be joined by the following groups:
